We've all seen the Archetype section on the site as we squeeze it for all the BRINK information we can get, so I quiz you now:

Which Archetype will you build your character off of?

Resistance or Security?

Because you can't mix both faction's archetypes.

No, I think it deserves it's own thread, the last one we had like this was a couple months ago.

Personally, I'll be building off The Bomb for Security and The Fortress for Resistance, but they'll be pretty varied

Mabye The Bug but for me it is kind of hard to say, because there is probably alot of stuff i have not seen. So I will just wait and see.

EDIT: So this is not a ''your first character will be built with x and y'' thread? In that case - My favorite Archetype is The Eel, the thing I got as my avatar, wetsuit goodness

Don't think so. The Bug and the Good Cop will be available from the very start, but it seems that the Eel will probably come in later.

I am liking the Anger for the resistance and a mixture of good cop and the look for security. i would choose the psycho if it was considered a archetype instead of the anger.

Some guys got promo items from Splash Damage a long time ago, one poster was of my avatar and I believe the poster even said ''The Eel Archetype'', I've also seen the undershirt and pants in a customization video ''The Eel'' it said, and it indeed was a wetsuit

Yeah for Resistance I'd have to go with The Fortress's Pants, The Sweat's tank and The Psycho's tattoos. That outfit just screams "Dangerous" to me. On the Security side it would probably have to be a white/red scheme of beret, The Look and The Good Cop/The Jesse. Setups that aren't too bulky, but look comfortable enough to run around in while preserving that 'cool' factor.

psycho tats for sure on my resistance char, and probably the yakuza style tats on my security.

Anyone know if there are overlays or under tops that give the impressions of wounds? (No, I'm not counting the bandages!)
Anything with cuts or blood?

No archetype is inherently any skin color. I don't know why people don't understand this. There's no need to say "a white version."

That's why he said he'd be changing it... :confused: if he just said "the Firestarter" then anybody who's familiar with the brinkthegame.com Archetype images will instantly associate it with darker skin.

My favorite out of all for sure is the Bug *points at avatar*, but the Good Cop and the Jesse are also awesome. I'm not as enthused about Resistance, but I'm liking the Sweat and the Dude.

Yeah, and that's the problem. The association makes no sense. People see one pic of a black dude as the Firestarter and assume that.

Well it's not so much "I've only ever seen the Firestarter as a black guy so that must be who he is", as it is "I've only ever seen the Firestarter as a black guy, so that's my mental quick-reference image".

I mean I've only ever seen the Bug as caucasian, so every time I see the name "the Bug" my mind instantly draws on a stereotype - that he is white. I guess he stated that the Firestarter was going to be white so that people didn't automatically jump to the conclusion he would be dark. I'm sure most people here must be familiar with what skin tones are available. :thumbsup:

The Poster does tell you both the faction and the name of the archetype.

Perhaps some of the designs include details like these.
