Favourite Elder Scrolls Game?

Post » Sat Mar 20, 2010 6:33 am

I was wondering who liked which game of the elder scrolls series the most. Personally, I liked Morrowind best.

I think i'm in the minority but i truely love battlespire the most. The atmospear of that game to where your behind enemy lines turning the enemy against each other and also being hunted and in the end useing everything you've learned against lord dagon to banish him just felt so satifying. At the end you truely felt like a hero deserveing of being called a legend.

Yay, this topic again. Morrowind is personal favorite, but Oblivion is also really good, too.

(Had to add in that last one to avoid a Morrowind-Oblivion war).

Oblivion is my favorite, just because it is my first Elder Scrolls game and it feels comfortable, but I love them all.

Morrowind is my absolute favorite because of the amazing world and rich lore. Arena is a close second for its sheer scope and gameplay simplicity that work incredibly well together, IMO (for some reason I get more immersed in that game than I do in any other game). Redguard would have been the top game if it had a better control scheme which unfortunately held it back (because it's still one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen with an awesome story, great characters, and amazing locations).

I am biased to Morrowind because it is the first Elder Scrolls game I ever played, and it's often that the first becomes the favorite. But I simply fell instantly in love with the alien culture and the rich, fascinating lore surrounding Dunmeri values, architecture, and landscape. It also provides a humbling amount of lore and background information that really set the stage for the wonderful plethora of lore we have about the Elder Scrolls universe.

So yes, definitely Morrowind. But I've yet to play an Elder Scrolls game I didn't fall in love with for one reason or another.

Don't we already have one of these threads?
Anyway, I prefer Morrowind, always have, and probably always will. Oblivion was good too, but I just didn't like the watered down feel of it. That, and there was no jungle.

I recently played through some faction quests in Oblivion with my second character (all the factions I didn't do with my first character). Immediately after, I reinstalled Morrowind. :)

Oblivion, It wasn't the first I played, but it was the first I got into, and then it was a gateway into the other games.

Morrowind.
It was epic and you could go into a random cave and be totally ass kicked by a random mage/monster. And it's massive amounts of stuff to do. And just the feeling of it... oh the love.

Morrowind here as well. I would like to see Bethesda do a remake of Morrowind with:

1- Updated Graphics
2-Oblivion Quest System
3-Oblivion magic system but keep all the Morrowind spells.
4-Voice overs.

I would love an Oblivion update that would allow for Levitate.
I get so sick of fighting hills more than enemies.... frustrating.

Haha! Good point! I missed having Levitate in Oblivion too.

It depends. If we're talking about vanilla games then I prefer Morrowind over Oblivion. If we're talking about modded games then I prefer Oblivion over Morrowind.

Morrowind is my all-time favorite game, Oblivion comes in at a respectable #2.

#3 is currently in a bit of turmoil, as Mass Effect 2 has shaken things up a bit, and apart from the two above, everything has fallen off the list and I'm trying to put them back up in the correct order (not literally, of course- metaphorically).

Daggerfall. The first game that gave me a sense of "anything goes", and none has quite matched it since.

My favorite is Morrowind but I am not one of those people who hate Oblivion. In fact, it comes a very close second.

Definately Morrowind. Playing both Morrowind and Oblivion again right now and Morrowind just has more staying power. The only mods I used for Morrowind were graphics enhancers, for Oblivion I installed a bunch of gameplay mods just to make it more enjoyable. And even modded Oblivion does not beat unmodded Morrowind.

I can understand that. I played it only after TES4 and I was blown away. Challenge, the Daedra that were actually interesting and not mindless, puzzles, riddles, the whole setting. The Hunt was also much better than in Bloodmoon...

Still TES2 is my fav.

Morrowind is my favorite by a long shot. It's a toss up between Daggerfall and Oblivion. Though, Daggerfall has the edge, mostly because it is relatively new to me. I've tried and tried to get back into Oblivion, but I just can't seem to do it. Within a half an hour I start jonesin' for Morrowind again.

I am biased toward Oblivion as it is what got me into gaming in the first place. I had never been a hardcoe gamer up until Oblivion. It was always sports games until I saw what else a video game could offer. It just holds a special memory in my heart in a way that you look back at a childhood christmas and get all warm.
