Favourite inn

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 9:08 pm

I am quite fond of the Gottshaw Inn, for some reasons.

On my way to Anvil, I usually pop in there for a chat :) It is a nice place, and it has a good location

Roxey inn would probably be my favorite. Unlike the many other inns in oblivion, Roxey feels like it really IS an Inn because of its location and the characters inside.

Am I the onlly one who dislikes the Inn of ill omen? The people there are creepy and S'jira's potato bread is too tempting.

Buffy and Daenlin usually pop into the Inn of Ill Omen when hunting north of Bravil to say hi to http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/ScreenShot412.jpg. The soup's terrible, but Daenlin likes the ale there. They usually then do indeed head to the Faregyl Inn for some 'tato bread though. :liplick:

I like the building, I think there is only three or four of that type in the game, a couple in Chorrol, a couple in Hackdirt and the Gottshaw Inn. I like Foroch as well.

The Bloated Float, because my fellow Thieves Guild associates hang out there. And the food is alright to pick up without it counting as theft.

Really? I have my crosshair off so I′ve never seen it′s ok to take it.
I like the idea of having an inn on a boat. Being gently rocked to sleep and all :sleep2:

I like the Oak and Crosier. Talasma is always so nice and friendly to my characters. I like her a lot. On the other hand, while Nerussa (Wawnet Inn) is very pretty she is always so snobby to my characters. She may say nice things, but it is all an act I tell you. Just look at her sneer when I walk away.

I haven′t checked thoroughly, but I′m pretty sure The Grey Mare in Chorrol hasn′t been mentioned a lot. Personally I think it′s a nice place. Pretty small, but you gotta like the innkeeper :)

Btw, I really regret not including a poll in this thread :banghead:

Emfrid at the Grey Mare is off-limits. Bitneld got there first! (Assuming you did talk to him during Canvas the Castle)

A poll would have been difficult as the wiki lists three dozen inns. I don't think a poll can have anything like that number of choices.

It's also interesting to note which ones are the most popular with the locals. Tiber Septim, of course, comes first, but the Flowing Bowl and Newlands Lodge get quite a bit of traffic. I didn't count up how many regulars of each die during the game. That might put you off a few of them!

I don′t want to hit on her

I disagree. A poll does not have to include every single inn, the same way I didn′t include every single trap in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1154437-favourite-trap/page__view__findpost__p__16896719__fromsearch__1. As you can see there I selected a few and if you want one that isn′t there, just make a post :)

Tiber Septim in the Imperial City... But for inn's in the midst of nature? I would pick the Drunken Dragon.

Oh well, Juliana loves Olav's Tap and Tack and I can imagine that. She's a Nord and loves to have some good alcohol while chitchatting with the other residents. The other Inn in town is one she never visited, and she doesn't even want too.

As I′ve said Olav′s is Lothran′s inn of choice too. Much like the town he loved it the very first time he sat foot in it and Olav and the regulars are his best friends. Well, except from one very special chatty little wood nymf

He′s looking forward though to The Wastrel′s Purse in Passwall. It′s a very cozy little place he thinks, a haven before entering the realm of madness

When strangers call Buffy a wood nymph or twig, she gets upset. Somehow though, when friends call her that, she finds it quite endearing. :hugs: She certainly does prattle on when she's among dear friends - that's why poor Lothran always gets an earful when Buffy visits Bruma. :talk:

Dredhwen runs a wonderful little inn at Passwall. :foodndrink: Buffy saw the Gatekeeper kill a whole group of adventurers. The mayor of Passwall told her to forget trying to fight the Gatekeeper, and she figured that was good advice. 'Sides, she's not about to try and help Sheo; not after what he talked her into at Borderwatch. :(
