Favourite questline

My favourite is the Dark Brotherhood because assassinations are awesome. The best one is when you have to sneak into the imperial city dungeon without alerting the guards(hardcoe). Some assassination instakill animations would have been nice...

Dark Brotherhood by a mile, you get paid to kill people and the quests are so much fun like Whodunit

Because I have yet to play the Shivering Isles campaign I would have to say that my favorite is the Thieves Guild quist line.

I would have said the DB quest line but...I have gone through it 4 different times(just as many with the TG quest line) and its lost its flare...unlike the thieves guild quest line with gives you a bit more room to do things out you want.

My fave guild is the MG because of the University and its wonderful facilities.

As far as completing actual questlines, hmm, I've done them all, but won't ever complete most of them again.

DB, MG, FG, Arena, MQ - All sad or anticlimatic. Each of those questlines is so much more fun if just 'paused' in the middle and never completed.

SI. I know I'm in the minority, but I think Sheo is an irritatingly annoying little thing and have no interest in doing a darn thing for him.

TG. Ahh. A satisfying love story. Beautiful. This is one that most of my characters complete just for the ending. They usually give the hood to Methredhel and ask her to run the guild though.

Out of all of those the Fighters Guild is the best, Its a bit lackluster, but I haven't played Thieves Guild yet, and I never got round to finishing SI, because I find the quests utterly boring. But my favourite one over all is Knights of the Nine! I love that, I'm not religious or anything, but I the quests amazing, and although ssome are a bit short, they're unique, and I love the armour you get for it.

I actually dislike them all, simply because in the end you become the "boss" of everything. It's kinda weird. :shrug: Plus, as boss, you have very little responsibility. It's actually easier to be the boss than it is to be an associate. Anyone can just walk in, and run the entire guild/faction/world.

Having said that, I'll say I liked DB (look at the screenname, what did you expect?) and SI. But I voted for DB. :D

Same for me as to what Acadian and Holy Assassin already nicely posted, but my characters will still see the conculsion of some guild or another at some point.
Thieves guild and DB are the most interesting, but honestly most of the factions can be if you spread your imagination out and do things different in game.

My sick sense of humor found the DB questline to be the funnest. It took me a while before i found out how to get in though. No one, for 60 hours on my first guy, said the "If you kill someone, the DB will visit you in your sleep" thing.

Gah,...I can never choose a favorite. Some of the Mage & Fighter's Guild quests are pretty meaningless, but some are wicked-cool. I've never even started Dark Brotherhood, and have only toyed with Thieve's Guild. The ARena is really cool, but the end (my opinion) just blows.

That leaves me with the Main Quest. It's awesome, and really got me interested in the game all over again once I finally started doing it. But is it my favorite? Ah! Can't decide!

KOTN!!

I don't see it as a choice in the poll. If it were up there, I'd still be undecided, though. :shrugs:

I haven't done them all but I have two favorites and you didn't list either one...and one of them is your name! :D

The Main Quest rocks and KOTN was great. All of the Knights lived and well, you know what happened to Umaril...

Tough choice between TG and Arena but since Arena is the one I have finished I take that one

Thieves Guild has probably the coolest outcome. Haven't done SI or KOTN yet. DB is still my favorite though. I always do at least part of it until I get Shadowmere.

Dark Brotherhood by far my favorite (obviously i suppose)

The arena is fun but I haven't finished it. After that I would say Theives G, but I haven't finished that either.

I've finished the Mages G and that was okay. I didn't especially like having to go to all the guild halls, but I liked the Aracane U part of the quest line.

I just haven't been able to get into the fighers guild quests--too much go-here-go-there for me (wish I could join the Blackwood Company).

I actually like a lot of the independent quests like the Knights of the White Stallion, mostly because I play when I want to relax and I don't like anything that's too complicated or involved. I already have too much of that in real life.

The other issue I have with questlines is roleplay. I don't necessarily want to finish the questlines if I don't want my character to be Archmage, and head of the TG, and head of the DB and Grand Champion, etc.

Ranked best to worst:

DB is my favorite, I just love being hired to kill people (and awsome quests such as whodunit?)

Theives guild a close 2nd, I love stealing stuff, and it can get you quite alot of money stealing stuff and selling to fences :)

Arena would probley be 3rd, I just like fighting, all there is too it O.O

Mages guild next, would be ranked 2nd if they didnt have those stupid guild recomendations in the beginning :facepalm:

Fighters guild would be last, while some of the quests are fun, some of them are just dull and boring :shrug:

There's a possible reason for feeling that way. The faction quests start out as "do this errand, or that" but at the end, they turn into linear story-lines. In other words, one can role-play through the first parts of each quest, but later on, one must "surrender to the story" or else abandon the questline.

After one of the FG quests most of my characters want to puke and a lot of the early quests are annoying as hell. Same with some of the Mages Guild quests a few of the people you work with are lazy pieces of dung. The one FG quest isn't as bad as the Molag Bal quest and one of the other Daedric quests.

The Fighter's Guild quests are okay, but still my favourite out of the above options. I hated the FG quests you had to do with Maglir, you save his butt twice, and then he defects and betrays you. When I disposed of him at the end, I kept on attacking his dead body for about a minute, he's an annoying little scamp. I hated the Azani Blackheart, and Wandering Scholar quests as well, Azani Blackheart was just walking around an empty ruin for an hour, and wandering scholar is just pointless. I did enjoy the interrogating one and The Hist though, poor Water's Edge.

Hmmm I think i’ll go with DB, Or TG, because the other ones are just a bore, like the mages guild recommendations. But most of them Don’t offer any actual responsibility or anything worth while like “You just reach the top of this guild...well thats it”

I have many reasons to prefer DB:

1) My character is a Shadow Assassin, fits her style perfectly;

2) Undetected Assassinations getting bonuses;

3) Scheduled for Execution quest has a great sense of revenge;

4) My character wants to harm the Empire as much as possible, so she identifies more with this faction than others (thought one specific Thief quest adresses this better);

5) I love some of the Items.

The main quest, so far is very disappointing. the fact that some 'plot' characters cannot die till a certain moments is horrible to me - why not just let a pop up message tell you that with his death your main quest cannot be accomplished? The exact point of my build is to do this....
