I generally make a few characters of a few races, but the first play through with probably be a breton mage. I'd like altmer but the vulnerability against other mages is sort of a letdown.

I've always preferred defensive attributes over offensive, it's a lot easier to exploit somebody else's f*ckup than it is to have to try and finish the fight with the first shot.

I understand what you mean but Orcs are Mer.

EDIT: Prob gonna play a Nord as I'm Swedish and if the Khajiit's doesn't look awful this time around I might play one as a second char, otherwise Bosmer.

Orcs are what? "Mer"? "Mer" as in "more"? :celebration: (I'm Swedish too)

Usuallly I start out with a Breton or an Imperial but mite make my first char a Nord just because the game takes place in Skyrim ("Scandinavia").

Mer = Elves, just as Men = Humans.

The Orcs were formerly called OrsiMER.

I'm a cat person so it's Khajiits for me.

One of my first characters for Morrowind was a Khajiit warrior(no, they're not limited to being thives). He was a very acrobatic warrior wearing heavy armor, and he could jump out of danger pretty quick.

Didn't like them as much in oblivion though. But my favorite char in that game was still my Khajiit assassin.

Bretons were the six slaves of the Ayleids. Real sophisticated

One does not preclude the other. And besides no need to get snippy due to your favorite races umm shortcomings.

For me I prefer Bretons for the magic, since well I hate elves and other than altmer the Bretons are it when it comes to magic. If racial benefits towards magic were not as extreme as past games I'd play a nord due to my heritage.

Wow that explains BosMER and DunMER. I'm terrible at ES lore. I just play and play and play without picking up too much about the back story and context (sadly!).

Dunmer since their culture is cool and I like playing warriors with some support magic.

LIST OF BEST RACES:
1. Bretons (because of their magic dominance)
2. Imperials (because of their all-around skillset)
3. Altmer (because of their magicka and "arcane arts boost")
4. Nord (powerful, strong, healthy)
5. Dunmer (aren't as tolerant to damage, high destructive force)
6. Bosmer (aren't tolerant to damage, makes good thieves)
7. Redguards (all-around skillset - nothing special about them)
8. Kajiits (fast, good thieves, useless in magic)
9. Argornians (aren't liked by society, useless in magic)
10. Orc (lacking in personality, ugly, dumb, slow, strong, agressive)

I always play as a Bosmer!!!
sometimes i play as a Dunmer tho but about 90% of the time i'm a Bosmer.

For me, Argonians and Redguard. Both great for their own term. Argonians because I find lizard race that isn't the "evil" race great to play and Redguard being the only human race that isn't "European" like.
