Favourite...?

Hi guys.

I know that there have been topics about favourite locations, tombs, NPC's etc.

What I want to know is what are you favourite 'back stories' of a location?

For me, has to Forelhost (probably butchered the spelling there)

Let me know your thoughts!

Forelhost... The Back Stories, along with the very challenging dungeon by itself.

Oh oh oh .....can I boast a bit here pleeeeeese!

I sneaked through all of Forehost on Legendary

No magic

No healing potions

No draugr killed

Just sneak killed the end boss for the mask and ran outside......Yay!

And yeah I love the tale behind it too.

Labyrinthian is another......when you find out what happened and why.....god, it tear pulling stuff.

Whereas on the other end of the spectrum, I once took my Nord warrior here at level 1 (on purpose to get ancient Nord armour and weapons for my 'descendent of Ysgramor' playthrough) and came out at level 11!

Labyrinthian is a very good choice. Also, it would be really cool to learn about the origins (and story) of Bromjunnar(?) sanctuary...

My favorite is Frostflow Lighthouse. I thought it was a sad and memorable story. It has stuck in my mind for years.

All good choices so far. Even though it's not as elaborate as a full dungeon, I always get a kick out of the dark humor of that burned out house in the far southeast corner of The Rift.

Apocrypha. I really dig the realm of forbidden knowledge vibe.

I like the way the "back story" of Avanchnzel plays out as you go through the ruin.

All good dungeon stories! :tops:

One of my faves is Arkngthamz (added by Dawnguard DLC).

Spoiler
Quest is Lost to the Ages, where you meet Katria and help her find the Aetherium Forge.

I know you are focused on single-site backstories, but I really enjoyed the story and mystery around the entire Thieve's Guild quest line. Each step got you a clue and a path to follow. The story felt very believable and I really had a sense that success in the quests resulted in prosperity for the guild.

If this is a backstory that is your favourite, then it is welcome here.

I don't usually play a thief and therefore the thieves guild, but I must admit that Skyrim does a good job of making you feel like the guild is on its last legs and the work that goes in to making it great again fulfilling...
