Couldn't vote on the poll because it's not multiple choice. :( If it were MC, I'd place several votes because each of my characters has different ways of making money. Some of them steal. Some of them dungeon-dive. Some of them make lots of useless potions from common items and sell them. Some characters do the Arena, while others shun it.

Most of my characters get the bulk of their money by dungeon diving and selling the loot based on the value to weight ratio.

Making potions, making potions is so fine! I also voted for stealing and guild quests, assuming my characters is involved in certain guilds.

Most of my gold for the current character came from Oblivion gate closeing. Becomes very lucrative at level 22+.

Rockmilk Cave is still the best place to make money. Even at lowish levels it's possible to farm several hundred thousand septims in a few realtime hours.

I tend to find that dungeon diving is the best way. As long as you only take the most expensive stuff you can make a good living that way - of course its annoying when you get an amulet worth just under 10k and can only find a merchant with 4k to work with (I'm running OOO).

I've never taken the MG stuff and sold it back to them, I get on just fine without that.

Ah! Now that it's multiple-choice, I voted for all the choices except pickpocket (rarely does an NPC have anything worth stealing on them, but some of my chars pickpocket occasionally), "live off the guild-master's salary" (there's a salary? My Arch-mage elf has yet to be paid), and "sell pelts & scales" (haven't got a char who lives off the land yet).

Mostly, just stealing food from random saps and selling the resulting potions. Dungeons after level 20ish.

Legitimately; Dungeon Crawling to sell weapons and armor.

Illegitimately; pickpocketing a Redguard residing in Talos Plaza District by the name of Dorian..

After the first few levels money is no longer a problem aside from finding ways to spend it.

Early levels:

1. Sell the mage guild alchemy stuff back to the house alchemists.

2. Do Order of Virtuous Blooc quest then Azura's quest

3. Do Collector's quest.

Considering how obsessed I am with harvesting alchemical ingredients it is making potions and selling them.

Making potions and selling them. Not only nets thousands in cash, but also brings good Intelligence raises.

In general, I do Rockmilk runs. At low levels it's still very effective because you can a few enchanted items from the bosses and chest, along with a good number of black bows for 100 coins apiece. Plus you have the lodge right there to rest in and store any particularly nice loot for future use, and to stockpile arrows if you use Marksman.

With certain character types I will find other ways to make money, such as alchemy or theft. But Rockmilk is my goto method.
