Favroite Elder Scrolls III-V OST Song?

Post » Wed Feb 03, 2016 1:26 pm

Apologies if this has been done before... I'm too lazy to search. :P

I've been listening to the three OST's on YouTube while I'm at work and after a month or so I think 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmasQm-YW8I&index=13&list=PLE7855814AAB038FA&shuffle=4681url' from the Oblivion OST might be my favorite out of all three games. I was just curious as to see what everyone else in the community prefers. :D

:tes:

Edit: Ugh. I spelled favorite wrong in the title. :brokencomputer:

Definitely Nerevar Rising for me too. It's my all-time favorite music from any video game. Fourteen years later it still has the power to send chills up and down my spine.

Another vote for Nerevar Rising. My wife and I like it so much we had the harpist learn it and add it to her repertoire of songs to play at our wedding reception.

We did NOT ask her to play music from any other video game.

The Glory of Cyrodiil is also a favorite of mine, but to me it sounds gamey, way too gamey for us to play it at our wedding. Nerevar Rising sounds more timeless than gamey.

The Skyrim song reminds me of the beginning of 2001 Space Odessey with the cavemen grunting and beating their sticks -- fitting for Skyrim's depiction of Nords I guess, but not something I am going to listen to outside of the game.

My favorite is "Auriel's Ascension" from IV. It plays off a theme from Morrowind's "Peaceful Waters," I believe. It has that "lone piano" effect that almost makes me want to cry.

It's special to me because the 360 editions of IV shipped with a bug for that song, if I remember correctly. So my first time hearing it was much later, and it really summed up all the feelings of the adventures I had had and the idea that I would be moving on to V soon.

Good choice! I had to click the link to realize it is the main theme to Morrowind, though. That song does take me back to so many hours spent in that game.

That song is right next to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga8KbMcUfm8 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyl4hQsij_c from Skyrim, though.

I cheated. I choose three songs :)

I have not played much of Oblivion, so I do not know that games' music as well, though I've heard it is also great.

I fifth Nerevar Rising. That song gives me goosebumps when I hear it played. I had many good hours listening to it on my adventures in Morrowind.:tops:

See somebody already mentioned Auriel's Ascension, one of my favourites. Another that first popped into my mind is Wings of Kynareth from Oblivion.

Mine would either be "Far Horizons" from Skyrim or "Wings of Kynareth" From Oblivion

Another voice for "Nerevar Rising." You just can't beat that sense of grandeur and awe it invokes.

There's only one problem with Neravar Rising, it's too short. :P It's definitely my favourite piece from TES, although there's another tune from MW that I'm fond of too (can't remember the name so I'll have to look it up later). :hehe:

I didn't know the name of Far Horizons before now, but it also deserves a big mention.

Call me old I don't care, my favorite is still Daggerfall's snow_b track aka Snow Over Northmoor. Brings back memories of riding my horse across Daggerfall, mane whipping across my face as snow flakes gently fall around me. Nerevar Rising and Wings of Kynareth follow close behind.

Yeah, i'm still a svcker for some of the oldies too. Battlespire's theme is probably my alltime favourite... It just drips darkness and brooding and fit the game so well. Like a Fantasy version of Doom.

Of the most recent 3, i have to agree with Nerevar Rising though. It sets the musical tone for the last 3 games, though i actually think ESO's variation on it is the best...

Once again, Nerevar Rising. Hell, it was good enough to effectively become the main theme of the series.

I had to look this one up, not having played Daggerfall enough. WOW! This is a great tune, too :)
