I heard it could go either way, as Super Mutants evolve into what they are the same way, wether they started out as a man or a woman. But if the devs confirmed him as a guy, then he's a guy. I always thought it was a 'he' anyway.

It's impossible to tell, because Super Mutants are neuter, and (s)he can't remember. However, I think the devs confirmed that he was intended to be a man, and thinking of Fawkes as female... just isn't right.

Super Mutants are asixual. A neuter is an animal that as been neutered. (Castrated) Could also be called a "Castrate"

@Oddish - it has nothing to do with caring whether or not Fawkes is a woman from that standpoint. It's about accuracy and the long history of arguments that have gone on about this around here. Beth has confirmed that Fawkes is a guy. He is not a girl. The subject comes up regularly.

Super Mutants are asixual. However Bethesda has pretty clearly stated that Fawkes was a male before the transformation.

Correction: East Coast supermutants are asixual. West Coast supermutants are very much sixual (even if they are sterile).

Well, that quote had both he's and she's so I read it to be more typo's than fact. Plus I remember when the voice actor posted here several times in the past to say that he is a he.

When I saw the thread title I thought :facepalm: Not again. Perhaps there could be a sticky locked topic titled, "Fawkes is not female."
But, no one reads the stickies. Nor uses the forum search, because this topic has been started so many times. It's a bit like the "how to make lotsa money" threads that get started daily.

I don't mind old topics being discussed from fresh with newer members. It's a nice way to keep the community active on the forums and encourages newer members to ask questions and get involved in discussions etc.

To put the final nail in the coffin, I will note an observation I made: Fawkes's tattered vault suit remnants? The seam patterns on the chest part match those of a Male vault suit. Fawkes was human male of indeterminate age before becoming a super mutant.

I think I may fire up NIFSkope and make a visual image of this proof, so in case any last remnants of the Fawkes-Is-Female crowd crop up.

Super Mutuants cant remember who they were before FEV, so they tend to just "guess" wether they think they were originally male or female and stick with it. In reality they are asixual beings without reproductive organs

If Fawkes voice sounds female to someone, um, I'm speechless.

I love Fawkes. He's so existential. I haven't played in a while so I fired up FO3 this morning to get warmed up for FNV. I was investigating a gutted house and had my back turned so didn't see the red marker on my compass. All of a sudden I heard Fawkes firing away...and it was a sneaky DeathClaw. Thank you, again, Fawkes. He's my man. lol I think I need more warmup...

Doesn't really matter...none of my characters are into the big green uglies. And considering none of them have come across any soap or toothpaste in the wastelands, I doubt they'd be into anything/one else either....

After reading Mystik's full post, I just don't understand what all the issue is about making caps in this game. Every run through I've had I end up with more caps than I know what to do with. If I could find a way, I'd dump them all in a crater somewhere and swim in them. I always get to the point where I'm buying stuff I don't need off the traders simply to give them plenty of money so I feel like I'm getting a great deal when I sell them stuff.

Then again, I'm a bit of a hoarder as well I guess. Simply can't pass up an opportunity to loot the dead or scab out a garbage bin....in game too.
