Fawkes is missing

Post » Tue Oct 07, 2014 10:56 pm

So, I've just blown up Raven Rock, and, according to the internet, Fawkes is supposed to be outside. But he isn't. He's just not there. Any idea where he might be?

Also, I managed to pass the science check when talking to Eden, even though I have a science skill of 19. Is that normal?

Ya I remember that happening to me once. I just went back to an earlier save and he appeared. Fawkes is awesome if you are a good character and have good karma. Best vanilla follower in the game imho :fallout:

How much earlier? I tried loading a quicksave from just before I spoke to Eden, and that didn't help. I think my last proper save was back in Vault 87, just after retrieving the G.E.C.K., but before I was captured.

Omg are you not using this life saver must have mod---> http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/3729/?

Maybe some knows the code to get him to appear instantly but ya your quick save may be corrupt. That is why I highly suggest the CASM mod and set it to auto save every 10 minutes.

I would install CASM and go back to vault 87. Don't get down, replay it because it really is the best fight of the entire game besides the DLCs which are kickass. :gun:

Yeah, I usually don't even look what mods are available for a game until I've played it two or three times without mods. It just feels... wrong... to mod a game before I've experienced the whole thing unmodded. This CASM mod clearly doesn't involve any major gameplay changes, so I'll consider installing it, but I think I'll try reloading my Vault 87 save without CASM first, and if that doesn't work, then install it. I know that's stupid, but whatever.

Also, what fight are you talking about? I used a Stealth Boy to sneak past the Enclave soldiers on my way to speak to Eden (there was a brief fight when I accidentally bumped into one of them), then after telling Eden to self-destruct, I just ran screaming all the way to the exit while the enclave just fought their own robots. :)

Okay, Fawkes is back! Loading the save from Vault 87 fixed it. :)

I didn't know he was suppose to appear out there lol. as soon as I had my gear I started putting rounds in every enclave officer, soldier and scientist I could find. I convinced Eden to blow up the place and I killed as many as I could on the way out. When I got outside first thing I saw was super mutant so I brought up the vats and was about to shoot him in the head when I realized it was Fawkes. He was by my side ever since. Including when I woke up 2 weeks later in the Brotherhood infirmary. He's a sweetie. Well I think its a he since Fawkes seems like a guy's name, he refers to himself as "he" yet according to all the data I read in the vault. mutants are Asixual.

"Fawkes seems like a Guy's name". Ha ha. Very funny.

And yes, mutants are asixual, but it's entirely possible that Fawkes was male before he was mutated. In fact, according to cut content, Fawkes was previously a man named Shelton Delacroix.

You sneaked by everyone with 1 stealth boy? Are you playing oon easy settings? How many do you have? I guess you can play that way but you are missing out on all the goodies that are locked up and all the incredible armour that these baddies are wearing. There is some armour and weapons that you won't be able to find again for a long time 0________0

The fight to leave the base after the president kills himself (dumbest part in the game) is my 2nd favourite battle in Vanilla fallout 3.

I used my high speech lv to convince the president to end the stupidity and terminate. The blowing up of the place I guess was his way of making sure he didn't get reprogrammed and end up back online. Plus the explosion of the base dealt a crippling blow to the Enclave.

And yeah why sneak out? Good thing I am on the PC and hacked my carry weight... I came out of there with massive amounts of armor and weapons. :P

Well, I didn't sneak by everyone. I sneaked past some of them, shot a few of them, and just ran past the rest. As for missing out on weapons and armour, I'm quite happy with my Chinese assault rifle, Submachine gun, combat shotgun, hunting rifle, shocksword, and sniper rifle. I don't really need more weapons, and most of the Enclave armour was actually worse than my T-51b armour (and there's no way in hell I'm going to dress up like an Enclave soldier anyway).

I don't know Orcsbreath's reasoning behind not wanting to wear enclave armor but I kinda feel weird wearing it. It would be like walking around with your American comrades during WWII while dressed as a Nazi soldier lol.

But I am wearing Enclave Hellfire armor. I don't know of this T-51b armor and hellfire for me at the moment has the best stats.

That's exactly my reasoning for not wearing Enclave armour :)

Also, the T-51b armour is one of the many pre-war goodies obtained at the end of Operation: Anchorage (although I've heard a better version can be found elsewhere).
