[RELz] FCOM Convergence and UFCOM

Hm, I don't even have a "Import Spells" category. I do have an "Import Spell Stats" category, but no mods turn up there so I'm not using it. So someone else has to take that. I'd guess there's no advantage in a pure FCOM setup - otherwise it would be listed in the Quick Guide.



I'd like to know the answer to this one too, as I have the "import spells" in Wrye Bash. The FCOM_Convergence.esp and OOO both show up there.

Yes, I should have added that I'm using Wrye Bash 286, which is slightly different than 285. So that's why I don't have it.

If your adding mods to a save game at the sewer exit, Oblivion will react to them as a game in progress.
It's vital if your adding FCOM to your game that you wait out respawn.
Eit the sewers and use coc TestingHall and wait there four game days (default) before commencing tests.
Return to the game world with coc Weye.

Thanks Shikishima. I tried that with my current OOO-only setup, but it didn't fix the problem. I'm hoping I've correctly identified OBSE as the issue and that I'll get it solved in that thread. I'll be sure to follow that advice when I get back to adding mods.

I'm not sure if I did the bash patch right or not. That's the only thing I was confused on since I use OBMM for pretty much everything.
I'm not using Fran's, WarCry since i kept getting a strange message with both.

I've been having a weird CTD while trying to use FCOM for a while now, it happens randomly whenever I drop an item.

The most common time is when I draw a weapon while carrying a torch, and the torch drops to the ground (-> CTD), although I've had cases where I'm dropping armor from my inventory and when I get out of the inventory screen, it CTD's.

My mod-setup isn't very complex, it's just a few additions to the FCOM package, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I've heard of and experienced the crash upon dropping lit torch. And I've never read a good explanation or good solution.

What you can do is add http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16282 to your load order and load it after FCOM.

Not sure what might cause the crashes. Make sure you're running the latest OBSE and launching the game via the OBSE launcher.

With both Fran's and WarCry. When I would activate them a message saying something like file so and so missing couldn't activate mod. But when I looked I saw WarCry.esp in my active list on the left but the file went from green to red instead of blue. I did a reinstall without WarCry since I figured from the pictures that it was just added weapons. But with Fran I've had trouble several times with it so this last time I just figured since it's optional I wouldn't install it.

I'll fix those things and see if it fixes them. With Loth's Blunt Weapons and Bob's Armory if I wanted to add those in the future after I get this running can I load them like I would any other mod or do I need to reload things like described in the steps in the first post. I'm really trying to get OOO and MMM working since those were the two mods that caught my attention when I was first looking for mods.

Why not use MMMforOOO then? As for Loth's and Bob's Armory, there is no reason for you to reload everything. You just need to add whichever of those two mods you want and the relevant FCOM plugin, rebuild the Bashed Patch, and you should be fine. They largely modify the leveled list, and that is something that the Bashed Patch takes care of.


Edit: You should not have installed WarCry.esp, just the WarCry EV.esp from the 1.08b patch. What is the error message you were getting with the install of Fran?

Still not sure what happened during the install of WarCry and Fran's from your description. Anyway, both are optional - but then you might be fine with MMM for OOO as Tomlong75210 said. It's a very nice combo. That said, nothing wrong with running FCOM with MMM/OOO as you still have access to quite a few nice FCOM optionals etc.

You can add WarCry, Fran's, Loth's, Bob's at any time.

I took care and removed the archery.esp and fixed my bash patch, reran BOSS and didn't see any more errors. Then rebuilt my bash patch. Now I CTD after the character generation screen. I'm getting closer but still having a problem. Is there something I'm missing? I feel like I'm missing a simple step.

Repost your current load order. MMM comes with an MMM for OOO version, so those can be run together w/o FCOM.

I'm getting closer but still having a problem. Is there something I'm missing? I feel like I'm missing a simple step.


here's my current load order. Only thing added since last time was Loth's and Bob's armory since I had to reinstall FCOM without that archery esp.


Is that the BOSS load order? Looks a bit odd to me. Anyway, I can't see anything suspicious in the mod list. Do you have the MMM bsa renamed correctly? A correct full install of OOO?

That is because theNiceOne's OMOD installer does that for you.


Edit: Did you not add the MMM BSA to the MMM OMOD?

Can't comment on that guide as I haven't checked it out. It's quite enough trying to support the "official" FCOM - I can't really keep track on and support other alternative guides as well.

Anyway, I'd double check the MMM and OOO installs. Does it crash immediately after char creation, i.e. does it seem to be an issue during char creation or something with the (prison) cell rather?

redoing installing with OBMM and I'm at the part where it asks about the MMM.bsa Do I choose the FCOM_Convergence_MartsMonsterMod.bsa option?

Yes. I have not used the OMOD installer, but choosing the option with FCOM in it should usually be the best choice if installing FCOM.


Edit: I am surprised that is not automated... I can add a note about it to the guide.

my guess is the prison cell. Because I can create a character and then when it gives you control of your character in first person view the game crashes

Yes

under MMM 3.7b3 and UFCOM - if you read very closely states that has well.

You must have the MMM 3.7b3 BSA installed and rename it FCOM_Convergence_MartsMonsterMod.bsa in order for meshes, textures and sounds to work with FCOM properly.

Have you successfully reinstalled MMM now? Both of your Fran and MMM BSAs are renamed?

LOL you guys are gonna hate me after this is all done i bet, If you don't all ready.

I'm not using Fran but in my Oblivion ini I see something that says FCOM_Convergence_FraNewItems.bsa but I don't see one that says FCOM_Convergence_MartsMonsterMod.bsa

Do I need to do something in there? or was the OMOD supposed to add a bsa in there?
