[RELZ] FCOM Convergence

Hey all, I'm having some trouble with CTD's. If I save in the wilderness, and try to load that save, Oblivion crashes.

Here's my load order (I've used BOSS, but it says my load order is fine):

No, I wasn't using Bashed Patch before. But I just enabled the patch following the instructions on the FCOM install guide, and the problem persists.

Quick question: Are you loading a save made within a cell, from within the same cell? IE, are you saving in the woods and then trying to load that save while still in the same section of woods?

If so, that crash is quite common. You have to go out to the menu and load the save from there to prevent the crash.

If however, you are saving in the woods and can't load that save from anywhere else then you have a problem.

FCOM requires a bashed patch to run correctly. And I'm not sure what you mean about instructions, but you might want to spend some time reading the Wrye Bash help html to read about the bashed patch options menu. From Wrye Bash, click the '?' icon at the bottom of the window.

I have a feeling there are a lot of missing things, but since I just started a new game all I have noticed are the shackles on your hands in the jail cell, and a pair of pants called "Burgundy Linens (unisix)"

I have a Question about tags in FCOM i just found out that Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm & Francesco's Optional New Items Add-On.esm is sopost to have ( Delev, Relev, Stats, Factions ) now before i found this out ive allways had just ( Delev, Relev, ) makes me wonder if there anythink else i should know about if iam missing any more tags when useing FCOM

The latter is happening. Unfortunately going to the main menu doesn't help.

I think rebuilt the bashed patch correctly, but the save still isn't working. Here's what I did:

After clicking Rebuild Patch, I checked 'Merge Patches' and left all the Mergeable Mods in the box to the right checked. Then I checked Leveled Lists, and had the Automatic box checked. Then I ok'd, went to Saves, right clicked my save, and hit Update NPC Levels.

On the brighter side, I found out that starting a new char works fine. I may just do that seeing how I was only ~2 hours the one char I had.

Anybody else had any problems with FCOM while using Better Cities (complete version) and Weather: All Natural?

I just downloaded and installed these today and something went wrong to the point where the game would crash on save loading or new game starting, and it persisted even after I deactivated the OMOD's for these, meaning I wound up having to redo my FCOM install completely...again :/

I got smart this time (I hope)...now that I installed all the FCOM stuff, I've made *TWO* backups of my data folder and marked them FCOM BACKUP DATA 1 and 2.

But anyway, I still need to know...do I have to do something special to get these two mods to run properly?

Calm down ... you will have a new Wryebash within a day or so to play with. In the meantime, try this: select the offending mod (Frans offended me bigtime too), then go to Bash Tags in the lower right hand corner ... right click and at the very top it says 'automatic'. If it's selected, deselect it--or vice versa. You might have to close out Wryebash and bring it back up, and maybe do the same thing again... but it stopped Frans hollering for me. You will probably have to do the same thing for every mod that kicks up a fuss--OOO and UOP are two of them. (I didn't try this on 278b, so I'm not for sure it will work... but it's worth a try)

Known error in current version of Wrye Bash. See the thread for more details. Won't affect your ability to make FCOM work, though.

Anybody else had any problems with FCOM while using Better Cities (complete version) and Weather: All Natural?

Previous versions haven't had a problem, although both have had updates released within the last week.
It may be an idea to have a scan through the latter posts in their official threads to see if anyone else has reported issues.

Alright, I lied. :) I thought my installation went off without a hitch. And it has, mostly. But I have a couple of funky texture issues.

First off, my potions have no icon in the inventory...they may be invisible in-game too? (How would I know? :biglaugh: ) What deals with this so I can look into it?

The other is crates, once opened, keep a normal wooden frame but it looks like it's wrapped around a royal purple box. Again, what part of FCOM (or subsequent mod) could be the culprit here? EDIT: It appears it hits some of the wooden barrels, too.

I do have a fresh install...I'd also post my load order if you really want...but I warn you, it's large :P And I have nothing installed to modify potions or boxes, unless it's part of FCOM (obviously, it is). I went ahead and added my other mods because I *thought* everything was fine.

Those are from OOO (potion replacers and Harvest Containers) so you're missing resources from it. Make sure you've installed 1.33 Complete and patched with 1.34 Beta 5. If you have, see Known Issues with 1.33 in the OP of http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1069109&hl=.

EDIT: Also, I've had no issues with FCOM, Better Cities and All Natural. Albeit, I haven't updated to the very latest releases yet, but I can't really see why they would cause such issues when run together.

@Rainshine, resource files are from OOO. Check the opening post of the current OOO thread for known issues for version 1.33
I'd seriously suggest cutting back to the basic FCOM installation before attempting to add further mods.
If you don't get that right troubleshooting a large mod list will become increasingly dififficult.

edit - just gotta hit refresh on occassions before I hit send. :P

Interesting...

Looking at OMOD I do definitely have both OOO 1.33 and the 1.34 patch, and they're activated. -headscratch- Since that's automated, I don't think it's user error.

I don't know about the potions but for the crates it's most likely coming from OOO(which contains Harvest Containers).

What's BSA Redirection, precious? >.>; I even did a search on the FCOM site and didn't find anything on it.

In OBMM click on utilities=>Archive Invalidation then make sure it's on BSA redirection and click update now.

Well, it is turned on EDIT: and already was. Happily, 9o% of my other mods are strictly cosmetic and are also OMODs, so it's not that big a deal to deactivate them. The other 10% don't change gameplay (portable tent, see you sleep n such). So I guess maybe I'll try to find the OOO thread (bad link on the front?) and see if I find anything there. Otherwise I'll just back up and reinstall FCOM from the top.

When rebuilding the bashed patch do i need to use "Import Stats" and are there other categories i need to be worrying about other than "Merge Patches" and "Leveled Lists"?
