FCOM, crash on start/new game

Greetings gents, finally got around to re installing (again) oblivion and decided to install fcom as well, now, ive re installed it twice this time, using the obmm scripts for fcom, and yet, nearly every time i start the game, it crashes immediately, and if it dosent crash, i try to start a game, and it will crash.

the weird thing is that i cant narrow it down to any particular mod, ill disable one, it will seem to work, i enable it, game crash, disable it again, game crashes again, in short, lolwhut

ive deactivated everything except the FCOM mods, and get the same issue, here is what im left with

UPDATE: didnt realize cobl main was active, deactivated, rebuilt patch, same issue

...gaaah i cant belive i forgot that step >< thanks, give me a minute ill let you know if it worked

fixed that, rebuilt patch, game loads fine, still cant start new game

What are you using as a gude for your install? I first followed the FCOM guide. I was haviing some problems and decided to look at TomLongs guides and found the FCOM/UFCOM thread here. It has working links to the current versions of everything you need for a basic install of FCOM and is up to date.

On the topic of More Wilderness Life causing problems: I did report that the plugin was causing CTDs for me when I tried to pass by Brina Cross Inn or Gottshaw Inn on the Gold Road, and that removing the plugin stopped this from happening (weirdly, I didn't even need to reset the cells before the crashing stopped).

However, I didn't really test that very well and so this is hardly conclusive proof that MMM-MWL has problems in it. Just keep an eye out for crashing in the general area I described and turn this guy off if it starts happening.

Do you mean after the movie intro? If so it's most often caused by not having the MMM bsa or not having it renamed correctly (FCOM_Convergence_MartsMonsterMod.bsa).

0B Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp - Don't use. Only use if you notice it's needed.

ok, fixed the bashed patch and went over the settings and tags twice to make sure i didnt miss anything, rebuilt it, still get crashing

You did forget FCOM_Knights.esp. It is worth all of the hassles involved in installing though.

It is not listed in the Active Mod Files in the last Load Order you posted. BOSS places it between the UOMP for Knights and FCOM_Archery.esp

huh odd, well i activated it and rebuilt the patch again, still no go. not sure why it isnt being listed in the load order as its right where its supposed to be

on that note its late and ive got work in the morning, thanks for the help everyone heres hoping i can get it to work tomorrow and not have to bug you all anymore =P

If you are crashing on startup of game then try NOT selecting import actor spells from FCOM_Convergence and rebuild patch. The start the game.

Or easier yet, deactivate bashed patch and see if game starts. If it does then try my suggestion for excluding fcom_convergence from import actor spells. This was a problem for me.

It will crash on startup if having Mayu's Skeleton tweaker selected in the Bashed Patch (Tweak Actors) w/o having the mod installed.

OK, so exactly where are we on this? Is the load order in the first post still valid? If not, repost your current one. It loads OK w/o the Bashed Patch but CTDs on startup with it? If so, double check everything in the Bashed Patch, i.e. the selections you've made.

the very last load order i posted is valid, i am currently rebuilding the patch so cant copy it, when its done, if my new config dosent work, i will go over the fcom thread again and try rebulding the patch

so far ive un installed everything, downloaded all the mods fromt he fcom thread and reinstalled everything using obmm and bain.
