FCOM heavily modded game

My game crashes directly after the character creation screen.
I installed everything exactly the way I was told in the FCOM thread and followed it to the letter.
FCOM was working correctly until I installed my other mods(which there are several)
How does my load order look?

Did you activate all of the mods at the same time? If so, you should follow this first fun guide: http://tescosi.com/wiki/Oblivion:First_Run_Guide It's tedious but it works as long as you don't have any crash causing mod conflicts.

There's nothing on that page and I activated my mods at the same time yes, but its worked just fine before.

If you follow the procedure on that page you will be able to isolate the problem. Also, you may want to consider adding most of the mods after you leave the ship.

Something weird is going on here, because after deactivating all the plugins and booting up a new game and making a new character the exact same thing happens.

It immediately crashes the second I finish making my character and with all the mods deactivated?

Aw that svcks. Mine crashed after spending about 2 hours trying to make my character look normal (no googley eyes). I was hoping it would get autosaved at least, but it crashed just before that.

Until you get it working, you should create any character, and then you get a chance to change their looks again later, once you've made a save.

Yeah thanks and I have been for some reason the game decides to crash no matter what I deactivate.
I don't know why it chooses to crash just after character creation every time. Does anyone know what generally loads up after character creation?

I'm no expert but when I was testing my mods, I did a new game each time, and would get a string of messages at the top saying "Streamline Initialized", etc, as well as quests that popped up from mods (to tell you how to use it) and from the DLCs. Quite a few things load in a row at the start, and the game makes an autosave in the first few seconds. But if yours happens when all of that is removed.. I dunno.

It sounds like you may have manually overwritten your Oblivion files (did not use OBMM or BAIN) and one of the mods causing issues happened to be one of the mods you did that with. My suggestion to you is to simply reinstall Oblivion (yes I know it svcks) and carefully install FCOM again and make sure everything works fine. I would not simply start the game and see if it runs, but actually make a quick character, turn god mode on if you must, and run around Tamriel and see if everything works ok for at least 20 minutes. After that, group your non FCOM mods in categories such as gameplay, sounds, visuals, leveling, landscape etc and one by one install those and check to see if they are working before moving on to the next category. While I am sure you may have installed FCOM just fine, you may also want to watch this youtube video about FCOM installation. There are 7 or 8 parts to the video and they are very helpful to use alongside the UFCOM thread. (do not just follow vid mindlessly) It really svcks that you have to reinstall Oblivion, but sometimes it is the best way to go about being closer to your best and most stable Oblivion experience.

I also must point out, you do not necessarily need to BAIN install every mod on the video. There are quite a few mods that you may OMOD with OBMM much easier and efficiently if you choose to do so.

Fresh install, and is it okay to backup my entire contents of my oblivion folder and just copy and paste for a clean install?

you can i guess but Wyre and OBMM are not going to immediately recognize any mods already in the folder if you added them already.

Also, if your problem is related to a bad install, then all you will do is copy the error back over. Best bet is to get an install that is stable, modded how you want it, and then copy THAT as a backup.

I add the mods folder directly into OBMMs directory as OMOD's and I am going to clean install directly from the discs first then.

Before you reinstall the entire game, it might be worth while to create a new .ini file. Delete the old and let the game create a new one when you launch the game again. See if that allows you to create a new character with Alternative Start by Ship loaded by itself.
