Team FCOM does not advocate it for some reason unknown to most...


Perhaps, but it shouldn't be unknown to you, though, as we've repeatedly given our reasons a gazillion times by now - most often because of posts by you personally. I can't even bother repeating it as it doesn't seem to register anyway. Talk about Groundhog Day... :rolleyes:

The only reason I've been given is that BAIN is not advocated by the FCOM camp because it is too complicated for new users. And this isn't true - if bash is already being used then why not uses its installer? It certainly is no less complicated than trying to juggle multiple and outdated install guides.

I've heard at one time that it wouldn't be possible to do this because two of the mods (OOO and Frans) are exe installers and so consistency is not kept across mods. But this does not hold up because Francesco already said it was ok to repackage and from what I can tell FCOM folks plan to release updated OOO plugins and a BSA, so those too could all be made BAIN ready.

I've also heard that the focus is just not on making the instructions clearer or packaging is not a concern at this time - even though there are now a handful unofficial guides all who could have been recruited to not only repackage the current core mods but also have guides the official page could link to.

So basically as best I can figure is that it boils down to just not wanting to. And really my comment didn't need a reply - my focus was to just share the BAIN info.

The esps for Francescos are 1.Francesco's Optional Chance of Stronger Bosses.esp 2. Francesco's Optional Chance of Stronger Enemies.esp 3. Francesco's Optional Chance of More Enemies.esp 4. Francesco's Optional Levelled Gaurds.esp.-I would follow the thread by Arkngt as it is more up to date on FCOM installation than the official FCOM website. P.S. I started with OBMM/OMOD installation because of how easy it is to remove and add a mod once it is converted into an OMOD. I am being forced to think about using BAIN to be able to play without an almost guaranteed CTD every two hours.

The esp's I listed are what is needed for an FCOM build. I Read the FCOM thread here and it does cover how to integrate the new version of MMMv3.73 into FCOM.

You'll want to remove these from your load order until you're ready to install the masters for them. Keep working toward a stable FCOM install first.

BAIN will not at all and by any means guarantee no ctds.

What is does do is remove the black box installing that OBMM operates on and teaches about what is installed where and why - it is like automating the manual install process. Other advantages include it telling you what resources are installed where, what other installed packages (anologous to omods) are conflicting with what other packages and in what order, the ability to adjust install order as easily as you can load order for esp (which means no uninstall/reinstall over and over again when updating), and to never really need to reinstall if you mess things up.

It does require you to participate in thinking about what you install and where.

But it will not prevent or reduce crashing - especially with FCOM. I've used FCOM for a little over two years now. I'm pretty sure I know what causes FCOM to crash a lot on my system - the abundance of spawn points. It adds them everywhere and no matter which direction I go in the external world there is mobs being spawned that is always pushing the ceiling of what my rig can handle. It is a CPU issue not a graphics card issue - more actors, more resources being used. Less spawn points and less mobs = more stability.

I actually run three Oblvion installs :
1 FCOM (and mods up to 244 active plugins)
2 TIE-WAC (and up to 253 active plugins)
3 Nehrim (and only about 25 plugins)

There is a lot of overlap between 1 and 2 with many of the same mods being used (UL, same combat, magic and stealth tweaks, similar if not same quests, obge, etc). FCOM is a crashing machine and for that save game thread I'm going to have to think about stripping out core parts (even go down to OOO+MMM) as the save game is old (over 300 hours long) and it just can't hack the extra spawns that a lvl 27 character can generate. the others don't crash often at all (Nehrim never).

So think about your rig and what it can handle. My quad core 2.66 can't really handle that load and my testing has shown it to be due to the spawn point surplus that FCOM brings.

If they're not checked, they wouldn't even show up in your Active Mods list so no, would not be used.

Looks like there's issues with your bashed patch. You haven't imported everything that needs to be.
As per the FCOM thread make sure all these (everything you have) are checked, minus the exceptions;

Merge Patches - Generally all mergeable mods can be checked.
Import Actors - All FCOM mods and UOP checked.
Import Actors: AIPackages - All FCOM mods and UOP checked. Tag FCOM_Convergence.esp with Actors.AIPackagesForceAdd.
Import Actors: Death Items - All FCOM mods and UOP checked.
Import Actors: Spells - All FCOM mods checked. Tag Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm, Mart's Monster Mod.esm and Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp with Actors Spells. Tag FCOM_Convergence.esp with Actors.SpellsForceAdd.
Import Factions - All FCOM mods and UOP checked. Exception: Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp.
