FCOM w/ UL + more

This is probably my billionth time reinstalling Oblivion to play again, except this time I'm using my new laptop to play so I'm excited to see how this will work out. Unfortunately I think there may be an issue somewhere with my load order because the game freezes at the loading screen (IIRC, this is what happens when there is a mod conflict). So if someone could check my load order out, that'd be much appreciated.

First off, use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 with the latest http://code.google.com/p/better-oblivion-sorting-software/source/browse/ to sort your load order. A lot of things are in the wrong places, like FCOM being loaded nearly last ;)

Strange, I am using BOSS. However I think Wrye Bash keeps resetting my load order. Meh.

Can you provide a mod list by accessing the same menu where you turned off Lock Times and choosing the "List Mods" option?

Nothing's been deactivated. That would be the first thing that leaps out at me. I assume the Bashed Patch has been rebuilt...? If so, there are a few things that need to be unchecked. Pretty sure the latest Wrye Bash (version 2.85, with Python 2.6.5 and extensions for that) will insist, or even do that for you though...

Click on the Mod Checker icon at the bottom of the Wrye Bash screen to get a bit of help there.

On a minor note, you don't need Exnem Runeskulls, or the FCOM addon for it. MMM covers that, from memory. In addition , check the latest MMM thread for more updates and info. And the latest FCOM thread has invaluable advice for tagging FCOM and OOO items.


edit: Aha, showler picked up the couple I couldn't remember. :)

edit2: And I might be wrong about the deactivation. It just looks that way, but I might be getting two mod listing procedures confused. Sorry, if so! Didn't mean to mislead or cause undue alarm.

You'll want to update your FCOM to the UFCOM release in the FCOM thread.

28 ExnemRuneskulls.esp
29 FCOM_ExnemRuneskulls.esp [Version 0.9.9]

Dump these two, since Runeskulls have been integrated into MMM. Just use the new MMM Runeskulls Loot for OOO option.

2D FCOM_Cobl.esp [Version 0.9.9]

Temporarily remove this. You're caught between versions and there is a doubling effect to having this running with OOO 1.32-Cobl.esp and MMM-Cobl.esp

3F Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse WaterLife.esp [Version 3.7b3p3]

Need to grab the fixed version of this from MMM thread. Quite serious issue probable with the version you have.

41 Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskulls Loot G&GD.esp [Version 3.7b3p3]

This is the one you'll want to swap with the OOO version. Gems and Gem Dust is being made completely redundant in future FCOM releases as well.

Try those changes first.

I've used FCOM installs many times and never really had a problem. This time, however, rather than spending hours downloading everything for a full FCOM installation, I grabbed a torrent from another site that had an OMOD called FCOM 9.9 with a full FCOM install plus the UL. Probably wasn't the best idea now that I'm having issues.

Definitely not the way to do it, no. But you can always start again. No (permanent) harm done.

Hope you don't mind me asking directly (I know, I already mentioned it...) but - have you rebuilt the Bashed Patch, merging and importing what needs to be so, and deactivating those ESPs that should be?

I did rebuild the bashed patch, however I'm fairly sure I missed some things and I'm going to go back and rebuild it after I install the UFCOM update.

Copy/paste:

Make sure to use Ryu Doppler's fixed version of Natural Weather, and not the original, otherwise you'll get all sorts of bugs with it. Just search TES Nexus to find it.
