#1 Fear for Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 6:01 am

Not enough equipment slots, i want to mod a scale armor and equip every scale independantly.
Ok the 200 pice armour is a joke but i wuld like to see 10+ equipment slots, moastly for modding, vanilla seems to use 3,5.

You haven't played the game yet, have seen decidedly little gameplay footage, and know very little in the way of how the RPG elements are going to pan out.

To call it a "hack n slash" at this point would be like saying Fallout 3 was a Call of Duty clone after seeing a five-minute demo.

Oblivion was a hack n slash. Really, honestly and truly, that is how the combat (and thus the game, no peaceful options) turned out, and Skyrim so far hasn't looked any different.

Too much focus on making the game a huge epic adventure. All this dragon talk has me worried. Maybe I don't want to be a big hero.

My biggest fear is that we'll have to install Steam to play it (in which case I'll pass and play/mod something else).

Don't get me wrong - Steam users can have their Steam version. I'd like to have mine without. :)

My biggest fear is it just being too simplistic. I want it to be hard and difficult. I want ALL of the huge disappointments that were in Oblivion to be corrected. So while my fear is that it still won't live up to my expectations, even though THIS time I have set my expectations MUCH lower than I did with Oblivion.

Respawning dragons will become an annoyance and diminish the threat they pose

my biggest fears is that Skyrim plays like a mixture of Two Worlds 1 and Fable 2....that and PS3 owners like myself get screwed out of DLC again :banghead:

My fear is that the story will feel apathetic, the big features are half done, bugs everywhere, repetitive quest, and when you reach the late game everything falls apart.

I'd say that a planned world wide release and the fact that they changed up how they did the DLC previously mid stream are good indications that they are trying to do it all across the board.

Biggest fears are how non-combat spells will work, ie Nighteye, invisibility, telekinesis, etc., what planes of Oblivion we'll be going in (NOT Dagon's), Vamps&Wolves&Bears, actual necromancy being implemented (and practicable), and marriage being a pointless waste of time.
And quest items not being in the game where they're supposed to spawn Oblivion-style. :brokencomputer:

I worry that with all the stuff cut from previous games, gameplay will be shallow dungeon grinding.

I also fear that dragons will be repetitive encounters just like those damned Oblvion gates.

Maybe.... but it's been 5 years and most of the DLC for Oblivion has never came out for PS3 and they obviously won't either :swear: . I thought maybe with the 5th anniversary edition but I was let down again :violin: ... here's to hoping Bethesda does the right thing with the DLC.

My #1 Fear for Skyrim is these boards.

Because all the people here who hype or bash this game will come around to either express disappointment or claim that they were right.

Because all the people crying for immersion will come back and cry that they didn't get enough immersion. <- this one is not just frightening, it's also depressing.

Because too many people will come around claiming that they did the hardest hardcoe insane impossible mode fighting only with a spoon and a loincloth and the game was still too easy.

Yes, I can say, without a doubt, that my numero uno fear of Skyrim is definitely the future of the Skyrim board.

My biggest fear is that it would lag like the ps3 version of fallout and be completely unplayable after 60 hours but I'm pretty sure that's fixed with the new engine

Simplification and streamlining, which I think is most fans biggest fear for the game.

I guess my number 1 is that it would handle on the PS3 like Fallout 3 did.

#1 fear - that I won't clear the minimum system reqs.

No free roam after main quest, you'd think Bethesda being the king of open world and all, that would never happen, but then look at Fallout 3...

I had plenty of free-roam in FO3. Just loaded a save from right before launching the final attack. (Broken Steel was a big mistake, screwed up the game immensely. Didn't need a level cap increase, the "harder" monsters were a joke, and they didn't need to extend the ending.)

My fear is that the storyline peaks after three weeks when my time off from work are over. I have to be back at my desk in december which may be very, very frustrating.

My second biggest fear is devastating bugs like the 'animation'-bug in Oblivion. But there wasn't any in FO3 so I'm pretty confident about that

I fear nothing :P Seriouisly, I think Skyrim will be a great Adventure game. Regarding other "fields", I think other games (older ones too) will satisfy me more.

Number 1 fear?

Not enough incentives to invest 300 hours on the game.

How could this happen?

Fast leveling (reaching level 50 only with the main quest + completing 1 guild)
Acquiring the best equipment easily/fast (not enough uniques, no need for looting)
No real challenges for a high-level characters (no extremely difficult dungeons/side quests only doable by 50+ level characters)

My only fear is that I'll have to swing 15 times at level 50 to kill that wolf that took me 5 swings to kill at level 5.
