since NPCs react to everything in skyrim it just hit me that if people saw you killing and absorbing a dragons soul they may think your a freak and try to kill you! eventually forming a cult to end your inhumanity of not having a normal soul.

I'm inclined to the idea they would consider you some kind of sorcerer. I think that fact that you killed a marauding dragon, thus saving the townsfolk will probably mitigate any fear the citizens would have. I mean, you're really weird, but you did a good thing.

Regardless, it sounds like basic math(A> B > C Therefore A > C). If the dragon was scary and a threat to them.... and you just killed said dragon.....

I'd wager that it would be human nature to consider it "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" until proven otherwise. :shrug:
