Fearsome Magicka

Post » Sat Apr 09, 2011 8:00 am

Huh. Well I signed up for TESAlliance as a BETA tester, and when I went into my email, I found I've been added to the StarCraft2 BETA for Blizzard. It's not even a keylogger! Maybe it's hit open beta stage, haven't been paying attention.

Talk about a conflict of interests.

Anyway, I've downloaded your skippy looking mod and will install and begin testing later in the day.

The Magic, it's Fearsome!

I've noticed that many of you have joined Tes Alliance to help to test Fearsome Magicka. Thanks!

One note here: I encourage you to read the 'Fearsome Magicka' thread in Cooperative Testing, since it's attachments contains the most up-to-date .esp file(the .esp file available in Beta Testing Download Section archive is now outdated).

cheers,
brucevayne

I didn't skim through the last topic, but I need to know.

Is this compatible with LAME/SM or other magicka overhauls?

LAME is necessary for integration the stranded light, so I can't have that colliding with this.

A suggestion (if it wasn't suggested already) is to put random spell tomes/sheets in leveled lists to allow players to learn spells that way too (like what LAME/Spelltomes DLC does)

This should be compatible with any other magic mods since it adds only new spells with a totally different way of casting. And I believe that there are going to be quests and searches for the spells in later versions

Indeed. I don't know if it's been mentioned much, but brucevayne made the mod so that not only do spells not conflict with preexisting spells, but also can only be cast a limited number of times a day, like in Dungeons and Dragons, Only the spells from this mod, however, are like this.
The team is still puttering past bugs and whatnot, but I'm guessing it's almost done. I only can think of one issue with the mod right now, and while I can't really say what it is due to the terms of being a tester, I'm certain that it won't trouble the testers much longer. Well, I hope it won't trouble the testers much longer. It's repeatable and impossible to get around(short of not triggering it), but it's not a problem the average player would run into often. Some crashes have been mostly tracked down to conflicts, and some odd messages pop up on my end now and then, but it's getting done.

ill sign up as a beta tester. I have a huge mod list, with FCOM and bunch of others, so I will check the compatibility on that.
Great mod, looking good so far...

Well, it's not hard to become a beta tester, but you do have to do that on http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/, which is where the beta testing is really going on. You'll have to write a little excerpt about you/your game, and wait to officially be entered into the Beta Testing Guild, then you can download the mod and get cracking on finding more ways to break the mod.

If I had time for more than a few hours of Oblivion a week, I would love to beta test this. But with how little I play I feel it'd be a waste.

Oh well, nothing to do but wait then.

Wait impatiently, that is.

Well, one of the testers keeps having one odd problem, which makes no sense but is screaming to be fixed(though I think it might just be a problem on their end), and we're going through one specific problem to try and find a working solution ASAP, but it's crazy how this one problem refuses to go away for some of the testers. I'd almost say that they might have forgotten a step on the install if I didn't know I'd be talking out of my ass saying that.

*twiddles thumbs* I won't say that I'm lost without this mod, but I made the release of this mod the time I would start playing Oblivion again. ;)

Good luck to the beta testing!

Hmm... I use that mod. I'm definitely willing to replace it for this one though. So, what, is that that then, or are there still other problems?

I think this mod will never come out. It was supposed to come out last December and has been getting pushed back

Could someone pm me a beta version of this mod? I'm exhausted from the waiting

It will come out when it comes out, its still in beta testing. And don't be a d bag asking for someone to give you the mod. Bruce has put effort into it without any compensation other than he likes to mod. If you're tired of waiting then quit waiting. Grab something else to keep you entertained for the moment.

brucevayne

To Ye of Little Faith:

Shut yer yapping about how it ain't commin out. I've been testing this mod in what in a "Closed Beta". A "Closed Beta" is called such because it is closed from most people, using only a few testers that either fit the required testing needs, or asked nicely.
This "Closed Beta" has been going on for a while, before I even started testing it. However, before the last bunch of testers popped into the testing ring, there was one tester, and one only. Now that there is a TESNexus release, I have a feeling it's either a "Open Beta" or "Released with updates Coming". It's a bit barebones in the last bit of the "Closed Beta", though I call it this because it adds only the spells, and not the quests for them which I heard were being made.

In short, if you didn't think it was coming out, you must now either stop being a jerk and ranting about how it isn't coming out, or explode violently. While I would prefer and recommend the latter, the former is easier and less messy.

Downloading straight away!
This'll be a nice distraction during my upcoming test-week.
Thank you for the hard work, I'm sure it's as amazing as you foretold already!:)

And YX33A, I vote for the violent exploding, never mind the mess. It's all worth their faces!:D

Now I can FINALLY use this mod on my mage character. I specifically started a mage to get these spells long ago (and I also wanted to try out a pure mage too). However, I did NOT use my mage character much (if any) during the beta test because I wanted to actually play with the spells when they were fully working for me. So now I finally can...with no cheats or anything :D
