[RELz], [WIP] Fearsome Magicka

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 4:37 am

Just had my first encounter with FM spells, when an Imp cast Magic Missles on my Lvl 2 char and she was killed within seconds. It was indeed fearsome - and she had to take great care when reloading. I think I'm going to like this a lot. :)

Had only one encounter this far, with the Anvil Mg recommendation quest.
Man, I have no idea what she did, but it was awesome!
Some kind of orb, emitted from her and growing lager at great speed. One of the battlemages was instantly killed. Beautiful.:)

Oh, Chromatic Orb is used? I saw a spell called that in the mod when I was looking around, but I didn't know if it was safe to add to the player, or what it did(though I certainly had a guess!).
Though I might have been told about a different spell, which revives undead in the area, but I don't know which is which.

Actually Chromatic Orb is one of almost ready spells included in the mod(there are a few more except this one). There is also Raise Undead spell which is fully functional, but for the moment only available for NPC's.

Well, I thought I disabled Chromatic Orb spell from NPC's use...

I was thinking about something before, do not take this as a request but a mere suggestion...

One D&Desque effect Oblivion is seriously lacking is a sort of "Lower Resistance" oe maybe a "Breach" to remove high level spell defenses (Reflect & Absorb in this case) would that be even possible?

Implementing such thing is not a problem. I once considered making such spells... I'll add it to the list then ;)

So what about Sorcerys Toll?
Will it work with the Fearsome Magick spells?

YES! I liked that spell quite a bit. In fact, we're not alone, OOTS used it in a comic to great comedic effect.

Yeah, but the best one is still V. with his/her "I prepared explosive runes this morning" :D (I Love OOTS)

Everybody, don't forget to vote for this mod for "file of the month" on the nexus. You don't have to of course, but it definitely deserves it IMO :)

There have been reports that the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11237 mod causes problems with Fearsome Magicka's Timestop spell. Has anyone tried the similar mod, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25475?

And i have to ask again. How will http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20000 affect the casting of these spells?

I think any kind of barrier spell would be a great addition too.

An Ice Wall that could be cast to block narrow corridors or alleyways to buy you some time to recover or to seperate a few enemies from a large group (or even freezing some within the wall).

A Fire Wall burning any who pass through it.

Some kind of Stasis Prison would be interesting too, like the classic http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Imprisonment spell, or some form of temporary banishment.

I know this isn't suppose to happen, but I killed my companion as well as a bunch of other bandits. Some of the bod's are lootable but not all, including my companion. She never came back. I had to make a clean save and reinstall Valeria. The spell I used was Firestorm. It seems as though some targets loose their havok?

It won't, Brucevayne set up a mostly separate magic system for the Fearsome Magicka spells, and for now that's the only option.

Nope, I have not tried or heard of that one. I wasn't aware there was another type of mod like that.

Actors don't loose it's havok, they are only 'unactivatable'... I'll investigate that. Meantime you can make selected actors activatable by typing in the console 'Setdestroyed 0' upon clicking on it.

Important information!

Please make sure that all your OBSE plagins are in Data/OBSE/Plugins directory, not in Data/OBSE/Plugin. RefStuff is provided in a wrong folder, make sure you've installed it correctly.

I'll update the mod description with appropriate description right away.

cheers,

Dang, acid arrow is so strong at higher levels when cast on you. I"m just lucky I haven't seen an NPC hit me with it twice in a row...that would really drain my HP quick.

I'm seriously thinking of giving up my mid range level straight Mage and go cross/class :flamethrower:

Any future plans of putting someone who sells/teaches the spells in an area more accessible area to low levels?

By the time i reach shivering isles, I'll probably be high level.
It would be nice for a starting character to have access to the spells, especially if they want to play a D&D style mage with their one magic missile spell to start =)
A lower level will only be able to cast a few of the spells before they have to rest anyway. Why make the spells inaccessible?
