This would let you destroy an existing living quarters without committing mass murder.
My vault has many rooms in the middle with a 2 segment living quarters to the side that prevents me from destroying the center room to restructure.
Yeah that would be great. Even better would be a way to actually move rooms. Have it cost 25% whatever it cost to build the room originally (including upgrade costs so it costs more to move a lvl 3 room than a lvl 1 room). The only stipulation being you have to have free build space to start shuffling rooms around and any room you move has to still be connected to the rest of the vault somehow, meaning you can't just plop a room in the middle of the dirt with no way for dwellers to get in or out of it.
I don't see a reason how building extra living quarters would affect the game negatively.
They can keep the 200 dweller cap, but allow us to build rooms beyond that cap.
Being able to move rooms may be nice as well. I've run into circumstances where I had a whole floor of living quarters in the early game. That configuration is just asking for a fire to spread.
Or possibly the ability to destroy a connected room as long as you choose a new room type to replace it with, so I can destroy my water purification plant in between two living quarters and choose to replace it with a Nuka Cola Bottling room.
Side note: It may be a good idea in the tutorial to mention that you can build more than one elevator per floor. This may have alleviated some of my issues, but I had no idea you could build multiple elevator chains until it was far too late.
FYI: My current configuration on each floor was 3-space room, elevator, 3-space room, 2-space room.
I didn't realize you could build elevators on that last space.
Building an elevator on the last space allows you to build it down the entire right side of the vault.
When you get to a floor that has a 3-space room in the middle that you want deleted, you can now do so as the 2-space room is connected to an elevator.
It would still be handy to be able to re-organize the living quarters as they are typically near the top of my vault from the start of the game, but having non-production rooms near where enemies enter isn't a great idea.
