that makes me think of that funny morrowind fan-made image showing all of the characters, with the PC in the middle decked out in the best gear and hoarding all sorts of items...

SNIP

Thanks for the heads up. Some hopefully not too wild predictions on which of those Bethesda has covered:

1. More artifacts, greater variety of clothes, weapons, armor, and other items.
2. More joinable guilds/factions.
3. Greater variety in voice acting.
4. Better combat.
5. Better character customisation.
6. Werewolves and dragons.
7. More variation in dungeons/caves/ruins.
8. Better crime/stealth/detection system.
9. Full screen map.

These seem like fairly safe bets to me.

Less likely, but still somewhat plausible, to my mind:
1. Reenchanting items.
2. Item crafting (at least maybe in the Bloodmoon form, where you bring raw materials to someone else, who creates the item for you).

Unsure about the training restrictions - I think that depends on how the levelling and skills systems work.

Aside from predictions, I'm pleased about the heads up, because I tend to agree that those things needed to be improved. The only things missing which were important to my mind were better AI, better dialogue, and better conversation mechanics. Hopefully we get some news about all of these in the Feb GI!

So after January 6th are we going to be getting all the info from the GI magazine or is that going to be restricted?

Nannersaur, you are the man! Most of the things we know about Skyrim and speculation info back before the announcement were only possible thanks to you.
Keep up the good work ;)

Haha thanks man, you're too kind. I'm just happy to help...

The only thing I care about is being the Dovahkiin. This is going to sound silly to most, I'm sure, but that's really a breaking point for me. One of the reasons I've never Oblivion is because the player wasn't the heir. It just simply isn't as fun for me to make my way through a game and NOT be the guy who turns into a fiery dragon and sends Mehrunes Dagon make into Oblivion, or in this case, I'm guessing, save Tamriel from being scorched by dragons. I play fantasy games to be a true hero (or villain in some cases), not set out on a quest to find one. I want to be the Champion of Cyrodiil, I want to be the Nerevarine again, not find wherever he's buried/hiding/imprisoned and awaken/free him/convince him to save everybody.

If the player isn't the Dovahkiin, I won't be buying Skyrim. There'd be no point for me, really.

Wow. Well, I can't think of much that would cause me to not buy this game. Other than Todd Howard announcing that it is a MMO and includes purple dragons and a little girl as a hero.

Why would it be restricted? We will be told everything that GI is allowed to tell us, and they have a 12 page story planned so...

That sounds long, but with all the screens we might not get much info

I guess that's why they are having a month dedicated to Skyrim.

I'm fine with plenty of screens. The specifics of the gameplay are not important to me at the moment. In three months time I will be rabid for info, but for now I just want to know what the game will look like.

Wait it's a 12 page piece? Geez, how did I miss that?

I think srk's post is probably pretty accurate. A lot of the things on your list seem like givens to me though.

I mean how much are we allowed to directly quote from Game Informer, because TES V info is definitely a big selling point for this issue.

I'm sure paraphrasing will be allowed. And of course we will be able to discuss in broad terms the features revealed.

As well, small quotes used as clarification on a point I'm sure are fine. I'm no mod though.

Well no TES game is linear, unless if you count Arena. The only thing to do really is beat the main quest(In Oblivion). The heir died at the end, so Its a good thing we did not play the role of the heir. Plus we would have to be Imperial(I believe, don't quote me on Lore information lol).

As far as I'm concerned Uriel's heir could be of any race. It's not like it's completely implausible for the Emperor to get it on with a Khajiit chick or something. There's some freaky stuff that goes on in TES with some characters, it seems...

So I'm guessing there's a 50/50 chance on this. We'll probably be the Dovahkiin if he/she survives the main quest.

I wouldn't mind my character dying at the conclusion of the MQ, it's not like I've never lost a character before. I don't see what the big deal would be with that, in fact I'd much enjoy doing something so epically heroic as blowing up a horde of dragons by overloading myself with magicka or something and then starting a new character to do something else entirely. Of course I understand if that's not everyone elses jug of mead.

11.) If I kill a guard and no one is around, why is it that every other guard in the game somehow magically knows about it?. There should only be a bounty put out on you if you get caught doing something. This should go for all the other various crimes you're able to commit in the game as well.

you can in Oblivion you just have to be very sneaky I used to do it all the time for money in that game

I know that, but what constitutes a transcript? There is going to be some debate over the GI article, and small quotations will be needed for clarity. Are they allowed?

Not necessarily. Given:

1.) There are half/half breeds (see http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Agronak_gro-Malog)

2.) Martin was an illegitimate child.

I'm thinking that the PC could have thought that he or she was a pure until he or she found out that the emperor is your father.

Of course, I am not sure how Imperials would treat non-or-half Imperials as l'Empereur.

Well if what you say is implemented, maybe that would be part of the story. However, If i were to play as an argonian(sp?), wouldn't it have to look half imperial? that would be slightly disappointing, just giving them a reason to keep the character design the same as oblivion, were every race looks practically the same.

There are no true halflings in Tamriel, the offspring always takes on the race of either the mother or father (I forget which).

Instead of some type of VATS, we need the cinematic kill cam from NV. That would be awesome and make the combat a lot more enjoyable and entertaining.

According to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Notes_on_Racial_Phylogeny, the mother. Take what it says with a pinch of salt though, this is the speculation of a game-world character, not a statement by a Bethesda lore writer :). For instance, a comment by one of the characters in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_Real_Barenziah ("You ought to meet some nice Elven boys, though. If you go on keeping company with Khajiits and humans and what have you, you'll find yourself pregnant in next to no time") suggests that Elven/Khajiit half-breeds are common enough to be accepted in a matter-of-fact way.

Of course, Bethesda wrote the lore, and they can change or ignore it as it suits them :D.

Well, much of what we've gleaned of the lore of TES has come from game-world characters.

That always annoys the hell out of me, and it's something I avoid like the Crimson Plague in my writing.

I'm confused about this topic. Is this the OP's suggestions or just some ediors suggestions or is this just stating the obvious on what will be improved (the general things that we know the company always improve on with the TES series).
