Feeding as a vampire

One thing that svcks about vampires (no pun intended) is that they can only go on and about at night. With the beautiful scenery Skyrim has, that would be a shame..

Calling themselves the Order, they have made Cyrodiil their home as of the Third Era, and in accordance with their strict tenets, these vampires follow the Daedric Princes Molag Bal and Clavicus Vile

Oh, so that's who the 'Order' is. Thanks! =)

You might wanna go learn about vampires, heck even twilight can teach you why thats not silly.

How about you watch Twilight while I explain some logic your way...

Vampire bites person
Person feels pain
Person struggles/wakes up
Vampire kills/fights person and either wins or runs/gets killed

Interesting how Volkihar clan vampire feed, does they freeze their victims with icy breath first or drain their blood and warm in one time (Drain Health + Frost Damage)?

It was confirmd by Todd Howard that in Skyrim we feed on sleeping people. And that the sun affects us more the more powerful we get.

Well if everyone you fed on died. Then all your "food" would be dead and there'd be no one left = less random stories = less fun!

Vampire hypnosis? They put the victim in a kind of trance so they are not constantly stuggling while being fed off of?

"Yes. I must let someone else know. That night, I decided to follow Relfina. I wanted to see where she went on her walks. When she stopped in the garden, and Seridur stepped out of the shadows, my heart sank. Then, suddenly, he was upon her! She seemed entranced as he wrapped his arms around her and sank his teeth into her neck. I burst from my hiding place and attacked Seridur. He became startled for a moment and tossed Relfina aside. She fell to the ground and I heard a sickening crack as her head struck a stone. I was no equal to Seridur. He knocked me down in one quick movement. As I lost consciousness, I saw him laugh and then run away. Now I know why he didn't finish me that night. He wanted to cast suspicions on me instead." When you ask him why he kept it a secret, he will say: "I panicked. By the time I awoke, her body was gone. I knew Seridur was a respected member of the community. They'd never believe he was a vampire. I retreated here to the cabin to collect my thoughts." -roland Jensiric on Seridur, a Cyrodiliic vampire.

Its just a Cyrodil vampires.

And now Skyrim vampires

Having in mind that they venture into the world of men only to feed, they probably look more monstrousy rather than like men like it was in Cyrodil. Cyrodil vamps were feeding on sleeping victims and were more civilized, so beeing a Volkihars vamp would be a whole different experience.

Buyt maybe some other vampires showed in Skyrim area within those 200 years, like Cyrodil vampires :sadvaultboy: . That would svck

I hope there are two joinable vampire clans, or at least a variation. Cyrodilic vampires are my favorite.

So Order capture territory of Volkihar clan?
Can we have two rival clans factions with own quest lines?

It's common in vampire stories for victims to wake up and notice a bite mark on their neck without waking up feeling it... People never die from vampire bites unless they drain them completely or bite a chunk out of their neck. I would like to turn people into vampires though, that'd be cool and I'd like to have the option to drain people and bite them while they're awake.

It sould be a finishing move when you're a vamp to grab and svck them.

In the majority of vampire stories, they're all taught not to drain their victims to death. It leaves you with some pretty damning evidence, and you don't need that much blood to survive. Eventually, you'd end up getting hunted by concerned citizens, and every other vampire, who would be pretty opposed to you destroying their food source with wanton abandon.

It would make sense. They made Cyrodiil their home in the Third Era and "Ousted all other competitiors" which leads me to believe they move every century and kill off rival vampire clans. It would be awesome if we had vampire questlines like Morrowind. Order vs Volkihar.

Only if they are sufficiently drained of blood.

I think some posters in this thread have never had the pleasure of reading the original Dracula by Bram Stoker.

There are many legends and tales of vampires guys, not just the Anne Rice/Twilight Lady's versions. In most legends, people don't even know they are bitten, or are held in thrall by the vampire, helpless to defend themselves.

Right, some people will wake up unaware they were bit by a vampire, but that doesn't mean they never struggle, fight, or actively fall victim to hynosis (whatever) while the vampiric act is being commited. Having NPCs just lie there with absolutely no reaction in Oblivion is really dull.

What's wrong with Anne Rice anyways in your mind? She does tons of research into her books from what I understand. She's not about shallow Hollywood-style portrayals (even if this is the way things sometimes come across in the movies).

Don't hate on Bethesda. :sadvaultboy:

I don't. I just wanna see some improvements in this area.

Something that surprised me in Oblivion was that your victims didn't die, let alone even wake up when you sank your teeth into their necks. I found this pretty silly to be honest. Any word on vampire changes, specifically this? And can you feed on people that are awake this time?

Do you cry out in agony every time a mesquito(spelling?) bites you?

I know they differ in magnitude, but it's the same concept. So it't not that silly.

I'm going to assume that it is going to be more or less the same in this game, with NPC's not being bothered by the fact you've just svcked their blood. Would be great if you could do something to them, like a special illusion spell then svck their blood or anything to make it feel a bit more in depth. But I suppose we can't have it all and anything else we can add in with either mods or our imagination in RP.
