Am I alone here? I mean, here's how my first visit to Novac goes:

I first get there and go automatically to Dinky. First, I I go to Cliff Briscoe and sell him 800 caps' worth of paperweights and Radscorpion meat, reducing his coffers to zero. Then I go behind his back, pick the door to his back room, and steal That Gun for good measure. Then I go to the mouth, bludgeon Manny Vargas in the head, and steal his rifle, beret, and holotape. Afterwards, I wait until night, accept Boone's revenge quest, lure the only hotel owner within at least 5 miles to her doom, and Boone and I embark on a non-homosixual adventure.

That's two out of the three men that make up the only law enforcement this town's got, and the third is sitting in his house with a broken leg, so he can't do crap against bad guys.

The only doctor in town is a fraud that doesn't know her stuff, and it's safe to assume that No-Bark would assume the role of mayor fairly quickly. By the time I leave Novac for the first time with Boone, what with the threat of the Legion and the ghouls nearby, the town is literally a disaster waiting to happen.

Novac is screwed.
