Feel good movies

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 1:53 pm

Lately I've really been in the mood for some feel good happy types of movies. I've been super stressed lately, so watching some nice happy movies definitely lightens my mood. I've watched a few recently, but would really like some suggestions, here is what I've watched lately:

Amélie
Ramona and Beezus
Love Actually
Tangled

As you can probably tell, I'm open to nearly any genre (not too fond of musicals). When it comes to movies, I generally don't like movies that are too old, so more recent movies would be great. Just looking for any movies that make you feel good after watching them. Also, for the sake of discussion we can use this thread to talk about any feel good or heartwarming movies that you enjoy.

Any musical films MGM produced in the 1940's. Anchors Aweigh, Take Me Out To The Ball Game, etc. Are they good? Not really.

New in Town was a good one. Chick flick. watch with girl friend. or friend that be a girl and then that might get you a girl friend? Then again maybe not a good idea since you are stressed..

You can't go wrong with all the classics!

Toy story
Finding Nemo (I always watch it when I get totally stressed out)
Shrek
Aladin
Lion King

Then there is,

How to Train your dragon (unrated) ha jk..
The Bounty Hunter
Robin Hood men in Tights

Just go on Netflix if you have it. There are tons of good movies to watch on there.

Some are a bit older and others may not fall into most folks' feel good category, but they all leave me in a good mood for one reason or another:

Up
WALL-E
Groundhog Day
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
My Neighbor Totoro

The Informant!
The Wedding Singer
Turner & Hooch
Macross: Do You Remember Love?
The Pursuit of Happyness

Edit- Silly censor. :glare:

Anything but For Colored Girls. We saw that yesterday and we were depressed for about a half hour afterward.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
The Incredibles, which is the only Pixar movie I like.
The first two Shrek movies.
Bowfinger.

Ha, me too. It's like they realised it was ridiculous, but since they had Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich they just decided to run with it.

Pretty much any good comedy, I guess.

But it also depends on what makes you feel happy. I'm happy after watching any good film, whether it's a tragedy or action or horror. As long as I can leave the cinema saying "The money I put on the ticket was well spent."

Yeah. It's the most ridiculous, over-the-top and weird normal movie ever.
