I feel pathetic...

Stay with your original choice and pray that the servers melt during the first two days and then you will feel better. I know it is risky but if you fork over double for the game for two earlier days access and then the servers melt for two days you will really feel like a pathetic fool. If the servers are fine on day one early release I will lie to you and say it is a disaster so you will feel better. :icecream:

I'm going through this right now, and its not as clean as I was hoping.

the refund/exchange with GMG worked ok, but then I had trouble removing the Explorer Edition with ESO. Then when they were able to help me with that, they got the new code applied and the confirmation email that I received listed me as activating another Explorer Pack instead of the Imp Edition I had just purchased.

On the plus side, CS is very responsive so far and working through it with me.

For those that do not know:

Digital Standard and Imperial bought from ZOS is 5 days EA.

Digital Imperial bought from GMG is 5 days EA.

Digital Standard bought from GMG is 3 days EA.

The Digital Standard bought from GMG = $60

The Digital Imperial bought from GMG (with the coupon code that anyone can get) = $64

Rebuying for two days is hugely not worth the price tag. Is each day really worth $40?

The best thing to do, imo, is to make plans on Sunday to distract yourself and take this as a lesson for future purchases. Many of us have done this sort of thing, so trust me... in the long run, those two days are not going to matter. :(

If the world ends during those 2 days and you have not played because you were too cheap to join the rest of us, your soul will be condemned to purgatory.

True story.

Only your avatar is without soul and could scoff at that eternal limbo, but can YOU really afford to take that risk?

A second account allows you to mail stuff to yourself (allowing you to stay out questing longer) thus less downtime, quicker leveling.

Also you can research more items (more toons),

More bank space.

easier/quicker crafting - since you gain more XP off of deconstruct items crafted by other toons.

I still cannot understand why ppl go through the hassle of buying digital content anywhere else than on the official site, why take friggin chances ???

Its sooooo easy to just buy it from the official site, screw all those shops that dont give the 5 days they should I mean wth...

Just find it "weird"... I would express myself in a different tone but lets not, .. anyway wouldn't take chances for whatever reason.

So if you can't get a refund on the original purchase then I say definitely stick with it.

I don't know which country you're in but in the UK it costs £69.99 which would mean £35 per day of the extra two days you'll get.

So not worth it. Save your cash and put it towards buying the six months subscription package instead. Way more worthwhile and will save you even more money over paying month by month.

Hmm, not sure. I remember reading that somewhere on their site but I just contacted them and told them that I had made a mistake when I ordered, wanted to "upgrade" to the Imp Edition which I would buy through them, and if there was anything they could do for me.

They opted to refund my original purchase (even though they had sent keys, I'd activated them, and played Beta) and just trust me to reorder I guess (which I did).

Just be really nice and make sure they understand that you'll be buying the Imp Edition through them for sure.

Hope that helps, good luck.

I did it because of the deal. Got the Imp edition there for 64 smackers.

You got two choices with the horse ride it or beat it. It's a good marketing plan by ESO either wait to save 17k for a horse or get one for 1g and begin right away upgrading that imp horse. I don't care for any of the other extras myself. The Horse and 5 day was the only reason I went with it over the standard edition.

Spoiler
You can't actually beat the horse though, trust me I tried.

Losing sense of taste, hearing, smell is as far as I would accept. Touch and Blindness well if I lost those two...

That's how I'd feel especially before the game releases.

Yep, that's what I did. $63.99 thru Gamefly, just a bit more than the regular price on standard. I tried GMG but had too many issues ordering from them, maybe because I am in the states.

Might be worth it actually! Think of it this way, in those 2 days without playing you will most likely be filling your days doing something else. You may end up at a bar drinking your sorrows knowing we are all playing, which could easily be a $100+ night. Could also lead to getting complete black out and alcohol poisoning, leading to a hospital visit costing $1000+. Don't make that mistake, just go ahead and spend the extra money for the Imperial account.

Don't buy it again for the sake of 2 days.

And if you're tempted to use the horse as a justification, you can upgrade your existing digital account to Imperial on or after the 4th of April.

dont buy the imperial edition, the horse is slower than foot speed sprint and not worth upgrading but most will end up wasting their horse feed cooldown on it, takes like a day and a half from launch to afford the 42k fastest light horse and start upgrading it, so $20 to ride a slow ass horse for 1 day that isnt really any faster than going on foot. only real benefit is the imperial race but that will show up on the pay store for like $5 in a month. there is no reason to buy the highest preorder edition, standard preorder through zos was the way to go but you already bought the game so dont waste your money.

Wha? I have no idea how you can make 42K in a day and a half.

Seriously, if you have already purchased one version and can't get your money back, SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Don't spend it on some frivolous two days extra time. Those days are likely to be fraught with login issues and so on. It's an MMO launch, come on people! No MMO has launched without some teething troubles, right? We all expect this. Don't spend the extra money to sit in a queue getting frustrated and having buyer's remorse. You will be spending far more than those two days are actually worth if you upgrade.
