Feels like an expensive demo

I could hardly wait for the next multiplayer game that was based on skills and customization since Borderlands and I thought this would be it. Though it does provide the skills based multiplayer but it doesn't live up to the fun and enjoyment like borderlands provided. Though I'm not bashing the game just simply trying to help improve it. Saw a preview for this game early last year and it seems like all they have done is change the hud and a little of the interactiveness since then. I feel like it could be updated and make things a lot better and smoother for the players while also improving things for if possible a Brink 2 that could make everything right. Here we go.

!. Need to really look into the lag on Xbox, this causes much frustration when trying to get in a groove of the game and also takes away from the fun parts of Brink.

2. The reaction time during interactions seem to be a little slow or at times not responsive. This has gotten me killed when trying to hold X to revive someone and nothing happens.

3. I thought there would be more guns to choose from kind of like Borderlands (but obviously nothing like it because that would be ridiculous to have so many guns for this game) but something where there were a lot of guns to choose from where the player can feel unique in their weapon and the customization. Also we can customize everything on the gun except the color? I figured this would be an obvious choice to have to make it even more unique. I feel if you can color everything else and choose whatever you want to go on the gun, color customization would be an obvious inclusion into the game. Also I did have trouble when customizing my gun with my screen too full. If I left the gun where it was I couldn't see what it was doing to the specs of my gun if I moved to the other side I couldn't see how it looked. If I put it in the center I couldn't really any of my gun except the bottom if I was changing barrel.

4. It is a multiplayer game and there is no create lobby? Why? This would help each player play with their friends on the same team and possibly rid of some of the lag issues. Rather than what me and my friend did all day search for a server, separately, to find a non laggy game and join it.

5. (This is where I think this improve either in a huge update or if possible the next Brink) Repetitiveness. The game is highly repetitive and what was really confusing the Campaign is basically the same thing as multiplayer. The game could have really stood out if the campaign would have been over the top with a story and just good gameplay but I was really surprised when to find out there is really no campaign. There should be a line for both where the player can take something from each and want to play both. The plot is there but failed to shine on what could have been an awesome campaign. Also, the maps are few and again there is basically one game type, would be interesting to see possible different types of skilled based games. Besides challenges that you really only benefit by playing by yourself.

6. Though this is not a huge important issue but the game is lacking a little on graphics area. Seems like it needs a little tune and should be fine.

Though the game has very good ideas but it feels like it's a demo to something that could be great. It is still fun since I got use to it and how the game kind of flows. I hope they can listen to the players that are playing it and take it as things to make something better and not shut us out and get hard headed and take things personally. Again, I'm not bashing it but, it was surprising when I popped it in my Xbox and got something not what I was expecting.

Lag is due to your connection, everyone seems to be blaming the game for that. The thing with reviving is probably due to your lag as well. SD didn't add too many weapons so it wasn't as overwhelming as the selection in CoD, in which there are about 20 weapons that noone uses. They're probably going to add more maps with DLC/update. Also, if you didn't know that the Campaign is multiplayer, then you haven't looked into the game much.

That is not the case with lag. I and 3 friends ahve been trying to play all day and maybe 1/5 games has little lag. We all play FPS regularly, we're all from different areas of the US playing on different connections. There is something wrong with the game that is causing this.

I must admit that I have not played the game yet (I pre-ordered it from the US, and it is supposed to be here in 8-10 business days  ), but just from what I've seen, a LOT of people have been complaining about the lag, far far too many for it to be just a connection issue. I can't say anything about the weapons (as I haven't seen any reviews talk about them).

I'm also a bit surprised about how everyone keeps talking about the colour issue. Splash Damage made it a selling point ("we're bringing the colour back into shooters"), and yet many reviews have talked about colours being murky or just boring.

Like I said, I haven't played this yet, but it seems to me that almost all of SD's most extolled virtues of Brink are all turning out sour.

I rented for 5 nights....took back in 5 hours....never had to do that with any game....if me rather than friend had rented vampire rain it would be on that list but since I didnt rent it...its just brink...it just felt bland...like a shadowrun/borderlands rip off but without any of the fun things those had.

Trust me me and my friends looked into it there wasn't much put out there on it. You have this story plot line that could be amazing and they didn't expand on it and if your going to do it like that then don't have a campaign or at least call it one, but what do I know right?. Even the people who reviewed we're very surprised about the campaign. So how am I suppose to know (unless I work there) if game informants don't know? I'm not saying have an overwhelming selection but Battlefield has a decent selection and all are balanced quite well. To say overwhelming is kind of a weak excuse. I figured DLC for maps but at least 10 is a good start and with a world like this I think it is capable especially if your game is just based around multiplayer. The game is very bold and took some getting use to before you understood exactly how to use everything and what to do. But it needs some polishing badly and I think a demo or beta would have been good for this to learn what they need to work on.
