My screenshot will probably fit here.. Let me just.. Yeah
http://i52.tinypic.com/2zhldo0.jpg - do they appeal to you, as a woman? :unsure2:
I think they looks nice, and I wonder what they'd look like in-game
But anyways.. Yeah, maybe would be nice if they could add ladies as a DLC, but that would be a wee bit much, no? Almost like adding the game to the game memory-wise? *Animations, Textures, Customization, Soundfiles
As far as whether they're appealing, I'll say yes. They're models, they're supposed to be. My compliments to the art team, because that is the kind of attention to detail that can really sell up a sci-fi setting and make it believable. As for whether I think they'd make good female character models...err...well, let's say if they're genetically-engineered to be pretty, there's something to say for the frailty of beauty. I'm pretty sure if they ever entered a battlefield there would be a brief 'crunch' and everyone's favorite makeup model would be a fine red paste.
The technological issues are addressed all over the place, and the official stance is here:
Q: Will there be female characters in Brink?
A: In short: no. Like all developers, Splash Damage faced physical limits on what they could put into the game and had to make the "incredibly tough" choice between massively reducing the variety and quality of character customization in order to make room for new models/animations for female characters, or to keep to their vision of "deep and varied" character creation by focusing only male customization and make that the best they possibly can. "This was a very, very hard decision for us to make", Ham explains, "but we feel that it was the right one for the overall quality of the game."
It wasn't my intention to complain about engine limitations, and I admit I got a little sidetracked. I had intended to gather support and show the developers that we're happy with Brink, but hope for female character options in either this or future games. It's obviously an issue which is close to peoples' hearts.
