Female Protagonist Background

I'm curious as to the female protagonist background. Was she in the military? When you click on the law diploma she mentions something about studying long hours. Because early in the game she puts on the power armor like she was slipping into a dress. The male was in the military, he's the narrator at the beginning of the game and mentions it.

I don't think the female protagonist was in the military. If you examine the military uniform in the bedroom closet at the start of the game she says, "I'm so proud of him." I think she was just a lawyer. Codsworth gives you a holotape from the husband, and he mentions how patient his wife has been, and it's been great being home the last year with her, like he was deployed before that.

I can find no indication the wife was in the military - except, yeah, the fact she casually jumps into Power Armor and proceeds to kick butt.

My own personal narrative for my female protagonist is that she was a military intelligence agent before going on maternity leave. My build is high Charisma, Sneak, etc. That's my own head canon.

Yeah, the game hints that she was a common lawyer.

As for using power armor like a pro, well, that's just some game logic for you :P

Only thing that is confirmed ingame(so far at least since i am not rly far into the game) is that she has a law degree, ofcourse theres plenty of possebilites on why shes familiar with weapons/power armor(she cud have been working in law enforcment, military inteligence, mybe she was a doomsday preeper and her hausband thought her the necesarry stuff, perhaps in private sector at one of the companies that developed the tech or mybe even the goverment held some sort of general mandatory triaining for everyone incase of war turning bad to be rdy for all out mobilization etc.. just take your pick) perhaps the game will give us some more info later on or just leave it to our imagination(doesnt rly matter anyway).

But anyhow what we know is that she had proper pre war education and who knows what exactly did that include:).

In the past games power armor required training. A housewife isn't going to know that.

Suppose I'll make believe she studied law before the war in Alaska, she was patriotic and joined the military, some type of special forces unit since my protagonist is a stealthy sniper type. She met her husband, got married, got pregnant and was released from service.

u need no training to use power armor. when u meet the minutemen, they direct u to power armor so u can take out raiders.

He or she means that the character would have to have knowledge of how to use the power armor before the bombs fell.

Judging by playing both a bit, it doesn't really matter, unless you want to start building based on what the background is. They can both do anything.

Maybe that is how Nate and Nora met! I might have to borrow that narrative when I play as the female protagonist :goodjob:

This.

The Vault-Tec reference the family's service not the protagonist.

Though there is enough ambiguity to head canon whatever you like.

i'm using it as a trigger for a STR 1, high CHA, INT build.
