Females in Multiplayer?

Post » Sun Mar 08, 2009 8:52 am

You can look across any Millitary/Multiplayer based game and you do not see female soldiers in the multiplayer. I think it would be awesome if you, Crytek, started this. I would LOVE to play as a badass female NanoSoldier. Crytek community, your thoughts?

I'd rather they spend their time on armor mods for aesthetics instead of female models. I don't care much for either of those though so no.

the characters you play in crysis 2 are special ops right? I think only men can serve in special ops accept for a few exceptions women can in the real world. so no women sorry

i wouldn't mind a female in the game but it would defiantly seem out of place seeing a female nano suit running around.

Hmmm this would be a nice addition for the gay dudes so long as Crytek ensures that the male and female characters are equal in terms of hit box, speed, strength, etc.

I used to play this F2P shooter called Combat Arms, and the female characters ruined everything, the company that hosted Combat Arms wanted players to pay money for the gender change into females(and be GAY) so they can get some tactical advantage, since they made those female characters twice as skinny and hard to hit compared to males, not even mentioning more speed.

As long as Crytek don't overdo it, I think it would be a nice addition, altho I would care-less if we had any females in Crysis 2.

Well, they're not necessarily "Spec Ops". If they were special operators then I think that Crytek would have already established that. In multiplayer, it says "Marines" and "C.E.L.L.". I don't THINK these guys are spec ops considering it is an all-out war. See what I mean? This means that female character models would be great for the game.

Exactly. But if Crytek took a tip from Bungie's female character models it would balance out perfectly.

NanoSPawn007 I'm totally backing you up, although such a thread already exists. Well if I have to be honest to myself I don't think that we're getting female characters in Crysis but still it's a good idea.

Or how about use the search function? This has been discussed before and no female characters for Crysis.

Seriously, they better work on the lag and balance than some female model >.>

In crysis 1 they were considered spec ops in single player, pretty sure multiplayer also. Crysis 2 I think is same thing unless all the marines are using suits, which would be odd since the suit is supposed be uniqe in the game. They probally just put marines/cell in multiplayer to make it easier intead of some detailed info. I doubt the average combat unit gets a suit in the game. They make everyone use nano suit in multiplayer because that is what makes crysis differnt from other fps games online.

Actually as far as I know and heard on the forums, the Marine and CELL soldiers will be equipped with the Nanosuit 1.0. The only person with the Nanosuit 2.0 is Alcatraz in the Singleplayer.

Weird in the central station game play video the marines in the game did not have nano suits on.
Then again we are talking about MP which is a lot differnt then the singleplayer.

You would think they would follow the lore though.

AFAIK there are very few women serving in a front line infantry role and it's unheard of in Special Ops roles. The Nanosuit, at least in Crysis, was used exclusively for elite special ops soldiers due to the massive cost. I guess in Crysis 2 the price could have fallen enough that they are available to infantry troops but I feel that is unlikely.

As for in game I would suppose that there would be too few people wanting a female skin to make it worthwhile.

What FPS game besides Halo: Reach implemented the option to choose the gender of your multiplayer character? Besides, the majority of the time players will spend on unlocking cool new weapons and nano suit abilities and not worrying whether the person who killed you was female or male.
