Going through the videos of the gameplay footage from E3, and i saw a feral ghoul reaver in the heading during one of the scenes. I sure hope they aren't as tough as they were in Fallout 3. I always ran the other way when I saw a Reaver!

They were seriously a pain, especially if you just ran into one. When I'd find one that didn't see me, I'd always set up a nice little mine field, then get somewhat far away and snipe them from a sneak position. That worked pretty well.
Oh good. Always nice to have a bullet sponge around when you just...have way too much ammo.
When I started a new game on Fallout 3 a few days ago, I thought you would only encounter Reavers if you were a certain level, but I had to fight not one, but two of them, in the metro while I was level 5. I wasn't even using guns neither, it was pretty tough.
I could've swore that I wasn't meant to come across one until I was a certain level, or got past a certain point.
With the weapon modifications we have now... you should have no problem taking them out... especially if you're wearing power armor.
I use to use the sniper rifle from landmine to take out any bullet sink creature. Sniper head shots while sneaking always seemed to be effective.
Sneak criticals for the win. Now you can make a plasma sniper if you choose, or a silenced 10 mm sniper rifle.
Hopefully they won't be as bullet-spongey. Weren't they added in a DLC specifically so that higher-level characters had a challenge? The way Bethesda handled level scaling for Skyrim and its DLC was so much better about that IMO; I don't think they'll be a huge pain.
If u had the right damage perks(bloody mess, stand your ground, and ghoul ecology) reavers are easy to kill. MPLX Novasurge, Metal Blaster, Victory rifle are all good against them. I was disappointed on how weak they were in NV.
Yes.
Agreed, Skyrim's DLC was VERY good about not making the DLC enemies too bullet-spongey. That was because all the new enemies were merely the next logical step in the scaling system, rather then the like 10+ steps up things like Reavers were in Broken Steel.
Hey at least there's something that'll get you scared [censored]
Edit: Damn censor didn't pick up my swearing.
I just hope Albino Scorpions don't return. Hate those things.
Sweet Talos in Sovngarde no. I'll take Alpha DeathClaws or legendary creatures again.
lol.. That would be insane.
Yao guai - Those use to scare the **** out of me. I'd never hear them until they were right on top of me.
Eh, i just used a Railway Rifle to cripple their limbs, then let Dogmeat tear them apart.
Personally, i think Stealthclaws (Deathclaws that retained their chameleon ability to blend in, like a stealth boy effect) would be terrifying.
The first time I saw a Yao Guai in Fo3 I freaked out then it killed me. Scorpions are far scarier to me. Deathclaws and Yao Guai are scary but don't compare to scorpions and Night Stalker
I hope not, they were one of the worst bullet sponge enemies there was
Yeah. I'm not sure how practical power armor is going to be now. In Fallout 3 and New Vegas you could wear it all the time, and even sneak around in it (which was actually kind of silly) I'm wondering if it's now going to be specifically a heavy assault type gear. Which would be kind of cool because it would force us to actually plan on what armor to wear for specific targets/locations.
That's my hope. If I have to go into a area filled with DeathClaws or any really hard creature like giant scorpions it will be best to carry around power armor for extra protection. On the other hand I do fell like if someone is able to mange to their armor they can carry anywhere they want.
I want to see the Nightkin back!
'Got any Stealthboys?'
