Ok, fess up...

How many of you have been in a tense situation in this game, stealthing around in a dark building full of enemies, or just blithely wandering around somewhere, when you were startled by the appearance of a human shape in front of you and blew it away with extreme prejudice...

only to find out you'd just given away your location to murder a mannequin?

LOLOLOL yes, I admit, I did that at least once so far, but in most cases I stopped myself before shooting, after I saw just how many dang mannequins are in this game! LOLOL Bethesda is so mean to add all these dummies, just to make dummies out of us! LOL

I have unloaded many full clips into mannequins...just to see their empty and soulless faces staring back at me.

I never actually shot one but I was pretty surprised when I first ran into one on stream. Probably made me look like an idiot.

Being a sniper I must confess to I have blown the head off a few human shaded figure on a hazy evening only to see it topple over stiffly and realise it was just a mannequin :ooo:

Mannequins? No my companions? heck yes.... You're slowly sneaking around a corner and a figures runs towards you... "PIPER fer frig sakes!!"

They always seem to like to find an alternative way around an obstacle, and sometimes they even bring "friends".

I've never shot a mannequin, but in New Vegas my girl got a beautiful long range shot on a lawn gnome that she thought was a Powder Ganger in a front yard. You should have seen the surprised look on the gnome's face.

Not usually a great tactic, in a room/floor potentially full of enemies. The mannequin often isn't alone. I've only done that once, I usually catch myself before the trigger pull.

Ehm... while playing a stealthy/sniper ish personality, u should be able to identify too quickly that the target isn't moving. o.o
I didn't shoot a single one in 300 hours. xD

I have been guilty of that more time than I'd care to admit... And lets just say that the Museum of Freedom's fine display survived 210 years of nuclear apocalypse... Until 30mins of me leaving Vault 111... where I mercilessly and without prejudice blew it the [censored] away...

Me too. With 3 points into LW, I hardly miss the pack mule, and the +25% damage is awesome!

This! One time Piper actually made me jump (in dark house full of ghouls) when she ran into my field of vision, and the only thing that saved her from a shotgun blast to the face was that I reflexively tapped VATS, and saw her name.

Sneaking around? Nah. Sniping? Yep! I skull plugged several mannequins at a distance thinking its an enemy standing guard and happens even more if its raining/foggy.

Have not done that yet. I see so may and have thought they were put there just for that reason.

Yep, did that, y′know, oversensitive mouse and everything :whistling: .

But more often than not I plug all those ghouls lying around everywhere just for good measure :gun: .

Ive got a itchy trigger finger in all games. Even though I rarely do stealth, I do have to admit to putting a few rounds into a mannequin while stomping around the city since they can look just like a raider under the right lighting conditions :P

My Companions tend to sneak up on me while I have my mini gun out, or they get ahead of me somehow and I nearly unload on them. You don't do that to a guy in full PA with a mini gun. Just no! But yes I have shot a mannequin or three.

I usually just bash them or stab them with by bayonet since I figured at some point one of them will turn out to be a Synth.

I have watched a Mannequins arm for awhile just waiting for them to move to get a head shot. Wasted a bit of time on that one. And yes I have shot one thinking it was a hostile.
