I have already submitted this in ESO section, but I'd figured that I'd still post this here in hopes it'll be in the next installment of The Elder Scrolls. So I'd like to submit a few suggestions if that's ok. I'm going to try to keep it based upon what I thought would be amazing in Skyrim. I'm going to touch base on weapons, magic, and even create-a-companion. Let me know what everyone thinks.
{++Co-Op Gameplay++}
It would be nice to be able to play with The Elder Scrolls with your friends. I'm sure this has been suggested several times, but just sayin. Maybe a max group of 3 people or something.
{++Ranged Weapons++}
I'm a HUGE fan of the ranged weapons (conjured bow especially), but I would like to see some more weapons being added to the game. No, not crossbows or guns, but here are a few things I would like to see be added into the game.
- Throwing Knives
- Throwing Axes
- Throwing Glaives
Just like with bows, these new weapons have a life span. If you use these weapons, but don't repair them, they will be destroyed. Requiring the player to restock their ranged weapons. However, unlike bows, players would have a 100% rate of being able to pick them back up. So long as they are in Good condition. Once the weapon's life rate drops below 75% the new ranged weapons will have a chance for breaking.
This topic brings me to my next topic.
{++Headshots++}
I don't understand why headshots don't take effect in the game more than it actually does. An arrow to the head should be the end of their story. Four arrows to the face is a little of kill.
{++Magic++}
As we all know, magic is a huge part in the game. However, there always seems to be a few things that I'd like to see, no matter how I look at it. Like being able to mix and match spells. For example, lets say that you conjure a bow, you should be able to combine it with fire as well and conjure a fire bow.
Here are some examples of conjuring a weapon with another spell class;
- Destruction - Combining with this would summon a destructive weapon. The weapon's attack base would be fire, ice, or shock. Pending on what's Destruction power is used. Players combining Destructive Runes with their Conjured Bow would be able to place a ruin from a distance.
- Illusion - Combining with this would put the enemies in a Panic. When stuck by the weapon, the enemy is forced into thinking that they are being tormented by a gruesome creature. However, this would not work on the Undead.
- Alteration - This could be the most fun spell tree to combine Conjuring with. Imagine combining Telekinesis with a Conjured Bow, then you shoot an enemy with a single arrow and it pushes all the enemy characters away from the enemy you shot. Or that you use life detect with your conjured bow and when you shoot an enemy in the room, the other people become detected so you know exactly how many people are in there and where.
- Restoration - Combining with restoration would create a Holy Weapon. Combining with a conjured bow, you could dispel summoned zombies or skeletons. Or players could use it to heal their team mates from a far.
- Conjuring - Yes, you should even be able to combine your conjured weapon with Conjuring spells. I would like to see that if players were to combine them together then when a player kills someone with the a conjured bow, they can hit that same enemy with their power and bring them back to life. Maybe even soul trap them so that if the player is going against Necromancers, they can't resurrect them.
Another thing I would like to see is that players who master a Spell Tree are able to imbue their regular weapons with those spells. Master Destruction and use One-Handed? You should be able to imbue your One-Handed sword with Fire, Ice, or Shock without it losing power with each use. I never really understood why I could be a light someone on fire, but couldn't put flames around my sword's blade, or light my arrows on fire.
{++Stealth++}
This is my favorite thing EVER! I'm a huge stealth fan and loved every second of it. However, much like everything else in life, I have come to realize that there is something that I would love to see tweaked in the Sneak skill. That is that if my Sneak is at 100, and I go into the shadows, I should become invisible. I completed both the Dark Brotherhood and The Thieves Guild, and that's all I could think about. If I'm supposed to have become one with the shadows, why don't I turn invisible when I go into the shadows or when I'm sneaking? Just a thought.
{++Skill Combinations++}
I know I've already covered spell combination, but I would like to see some skill combinations as well. Master in Sneak and Alchemy? When you're sneaking in the shadows and an enemy comes around you, they should be poisoned. Mastered Blocking and Alteration? Players should have a Telekinetic Shield. Our skills should be able to effect the other skill trees in the game as well and add additional bonuses when we master them.
{++Create-A-Companion++}
I know that this is going to be an MMORPG, but I would still like to suggest this, maybe you guys can put it in your next Elder Scrolls. Anyway, here goes. I would like to see a Create-A-Companion. Lets face it, All the companions in the previous games have pretty much svcked and only served as a pack-mule. I would like to see players be able to create a companion for when they're doing Solo quests. Create-A-Companion can be locked out until the player is level 7 or higher. Players would pick the skills that they want them to focus on, allowing them to accent their own skills and to create a companion that they could actually use.
Creating a companion is done in the inns across the land. You go in and tell the Inn Keeper that you're looking for someone to come along with you on your quests. The Inn Keeper then asks you what kind of Adventurer are you looking for. Players would the get to pick from the following;
- Race (Limited to your Alliance)
- Gender
- Strategy (Stealth, Head-on, Magical)
- Personality (Clever, Blood Thirsty, Passionate, or Compassionate)
Once you pick these four, the Inn Keeper than asks if you're looking for someone with particular skills or would the basic Thief, Warrior, or Mage work? If you tell them that you are looking for someone with Particular skills then you would be able pick up to 5 Major Skills that you want them to focus on. Picking particular skills determines not only how your companion will be in battle, but also how they will look.
If you pick your companion's skills to be more focused towards stealth and magic, then they will show up in a Black Mage's Robe. If you pick skills that focuses towards Heavy Armor and Ranged Combat, then your companion will show up in Heavy Armor and with a Bow.
Companions level up just like the players do. The more they use a skill, the faster they level that skill up. Players can get their companions to level up their minor skills in the companion menu by talking to their companion. When the player goes into their companion's skills they can tell them to focus on a specific minor skill in exchange for a major skill. For example, if your companion never uses Alchemy, and you would like them to focus on Illusion, then you would have them focus on Illusion and ignore Alchemy. Having them focus on a minor skill does slow down their level though however.
If your companion is knocked out too many times, they are killed and you have to go back to the Inn to get another companion. The cost of the Companion is determined by your level. The higher your level, the higher the cost is for a companion.
Companions are only accessible when the player is going solo. Once the player joins co-op with another player, then their companion is dismissed back to the player's home, or the nearest Inn to await for the player to come pick them up again. The downfall of this, is that the Companion only gains experience and levels from being with the player. If the Companion is at the Inn while the player increases their level from 20 to 25, then their Companion is still at level 25. The player can still pair up with their companion, or fire them, and hire a new Companion.
{++Thanks++}
That's all I have for right now, thanks for reading. Please feel free to let me know what you guys think. Hopefully it's not too late to make suggestions!
