Hello, all: I am an active member of the Nexus image and file-sharing site for Fallout 3 and NV, but have never made it onto this site before in great length. However, it seems that I need to find a new home for a Very large story that I am in the process of writing, and was wondering how things are done here. I had a file page for it on the Nexus, but the modmins asked me to take it down since it wasn't a game mod, when it hit the hot files and a few users complained.

The total work will be 15 chapters long, I believe. I am currently on chapter 5. Each chapter consists of somewhere around 7-10 pages, each page comprised of an artistic screenshot from the game with several paragraphs of text attached to it. I have been posting them a page at a time on the Nexus imageshare, and have made full chapters in gimp that have both text and the image on one page.

I had a couple of questions on how this forum worked in terms of submissions, to see if it will work for the format. My goal is to make it easy to follow, preferably broken up by chapter so you don't have to go through a huge number of pages to get to where you want to go.

Would I be able to make separate threads for each chapter, or would I have to maintain one single, large thread for the whole work?
If the latter, is there any way to link about so you can jump straight to any given chapter?
Is there a place to actually host the pics on this site, or would I need to set them up somewhere else and then link through to them?

I'd appreciate any insight as to how this forum works.

Hiya, firstly welcome, but I need to remind you that these forums are rated 13+ (irrespective of the game rating) and any content posted has to be suitable for that rating, that means no excessive descriptions of violence or six.

Posting a story will be limited to one thread, we don't want separate threads for each chapter. When a thread reaches 200 posts or there about it is closed and a new one can be started. Linking from a single post can be done by clicking the post number on the right and copy/pasting the link shown. Images are disabled here so you need to link to them to wherever you host them.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I'm not certain, however, given the content and format, that this is the right place for it, particularly if I have to link through to the images.

Since you took the time to bring up the 13+ rule as a reminder, does that mean that from your perspective the pic and description that I linked to here are skirting the line? Because if that's the case then I probably will need to look elsewhere.

The link is perfectly OK, What we don't want are explicit descriptions of violence (gory bits flying around etc) or graphic six scenes. Nor do we allow links to pictures of "advlt" content. Apart from that it will be OK.

If you decide to go ahead you can always clear something you are unsure about with either myself or another moderator first.
