A few MP questions

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:48 pm

Anyone have any info on how many MP maps will be available on release? I understand that Brink combines the single and multiplayer experience but I am not quite sure how that translates to MP maps. I have to say I did not know much about this game until a friend enlightened me acouple months ago but after seeing gameplay footage and the customization abilities it blew my mind. I can not wait for May 17. Also I know that I am getting ahead of myself but any word on post release DLC?

Welcome to the loony bin -- I mean, the forums!

I don't know the exact number of maps. Since single-player and multiplayer are intertwined, the campaign levels and multiplayer maps are one and the same. So I'd guess a healthy number of maps (10+) will be available for online play at launch.

I haven't heard any official word on DLC, but the devs implied they'll be supporting Brink after launch and will be re-evaluating many aspects of it after it ships.

That doesn't necessarily mean DLC. Sounds more like they're talking about post-release balancing and server patches, a la Black Ops.

I hope there are a decent variety of maps because while I think this game looks amazing I also think that it may get a little repetitive trying to accomplish the same objectives in the same order on the same maps over and over, whether you are security or resistance. Not that it is much different than domination on CoD or annex-koth on GOW or rush-conquest on BFBC2, but I just have such high hopes for this game that is going to be the changeup that I need from those type of games and is going to keep me playing for a long time.

I think the last update i saw said 8 maps on release but you shouldnt have to worry about repetitiveness the objective system generates random objectives so its not the same thing over and over again on each map.
