A few of your favorite things?

What are some things you always like to get, not matter what race, class, or questline?

I can't pass up the amulet of shadows. Love, love, love it. I always do a happy dance whenever I find a scroll of the Windwalker. And this play through, my spellsword found Ondusi's Key, a ring that unlocks 50 points. Which is spiffy for this character who has a low security.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some of my major artifacts (Ring of Phynaster). What are some of your favorite items, enchantments, and fun things to find in-game?

I droped my Amulet of Shadows early in the game. It made fights way too easy, and I didn't want that.

I'm always happy to find Open 100 points on Target scrolls. I rarely raid bandit caves, so I rarely get my hands on them.

Open/Lock spells are mandatory. I need them too often. (my security skill is low). I also bought these spells early in the game: Soul Trap, ASV Intervention, Divine Intervention.

I enjoyed hunting for a full set of Indoril armor.

I remember getting very excited about finding a Ring of Mark once, because I had an Amulet of Recall and was rubbish at magic.

I also love those scrolls that poison and damage health ('somebody's breath'?).

I love finding the Mentor's Ring in the Bitter Coast near Seyda Neen when I start off or at least eventually get to it. I also love getting the Imperial Knight armor set, or at least I think that's what it's called since it's not too heavy and has a decent armor rating. Other than that, I feel best with major artifacts.

I really love Trueflame, not for its stats so much as the meaning behind it. The fact that it was one of two blades presented to Nerevar and Almalexia as a wedding gift from Dumac and the Nerevarine later used it (presumably) to kill Almalexia after she lost her mind is very interesting to me. There aren't many objects in the game that have quite that much poignancy behind them.

Denstagmer's Ring and the Ring of Phynaster, to me, are essential at high-levels. I usually do not wear high level armour, and magic is very dangerous without something like daedric, ebony, or glass. So the high magicka resistance and elemental resistances are necessary to be able to survive things like ascended sleepers, ash vampires, powerful mages, certain daedra, and all the dangerous enemies.

Mark and recall are also essential as soon as I'm skilled enough at mysticism to cast them. Almsivi intervention is really nice to have, too.

I always end up going to Caldera and buying Veloth's Robe, the rings of fireball and lightning bolt, and the amulets of mighty blows and opening. I try SO hard not to, and it never works.
