Fictional Hero

Who is your fictional hero? Mine is Artemis Entreri from the Forgotten Realms series. I always admired his quest to push himself to be the pure fighter. I think it's his drive that makes me admire him.

Honor Harrington is a close second.

Not Catherine Cornelius then?

I'd go for Chris Guthrie from a Sunset Song unless I went for the Flounder from The Flounder (although he is more of an anti-hero) maybe Gwalmachai from Down the Long Wind, ach too many choices too many novels not enough time

Since Menolly, from Anne McCaffrey's Drongriders of Pern, is not really a "hero", I'll go with Paksennarion in Elizabeth Moon's Deed of Paksennarion trilogy :)

From a different medium, Spike Spiegal from the anime series Cowboy Bebop.

Not forgetting the fact half of Phil Oakey was modelled on our Jerry.

[Oh, and talking anti-heroes, can't beat the sheer hattage of http://www.berghuis.co.nz/abiator/pick/cugel/cugel2.jpg.]

I'm still going for The Flounder as the ultimate anti-hero. You can't beat a straight-talking flatfish.
