The Gauss Pistol is not an energy weapon, it's a gun, a tier 3 gun, and there was a percentage (albeit small) of them spawning with a tier 3 pistol, one just happened to, you wouldn't be mad if it was a 12.7mm Pistol.

Because the Vet Rangers are overpowered! I've never nerfed them, I feel that I may have to, because they are nearly as powerful as a Paladin, and that just ain't right, I can buy the AMR punching through power armor, but the Sequoia and Brush Gun are just plain way too powerful for an NPC to be using.

I did not touch the Vet Rangers I swear I did not. What's strange is that the .45-70 isn't a great round for penetration, its broad and heavy.

Yeah, standard Remington .308s (if there is such a thing) destroy standard 45/70s in Joules. 45.70 gets like 2400, .308 gets over 3,000. The .308 also flys much farther without dropping.

There is a .45/70 jhp "strong" that does a massive 4200 joules lol That must be what the rangers use. lol and they have the cowboy perk too.


PA in wiki would get slapped by almost everything besides 5.56 nato at 2500 joules is says pa takes, but it would take 5.56 nato all day. they only do around 1200 joules.

There is body armor IRL that you can buy on line that will do better yhan that. They have [censored] you can buy that is rated to take 1 .30.06 armor piercing round.

The Wiki is wrong, PA is superior to every other armor anyone can wear, that's why it was made, how it was made, it required the hard hitting Anti-Materiel rounds to punch through, and even then full penetration is not guaranteed. It doesn't have to make sense, that's why it was made, how it works, akin to plot armor, it is the best because it is supposed to be the best.

Maybe you should mess around with the Strength of Vet Ranger Armor, see if you can make it about how it should be lorewise...

Yeah they were (Tychon is my favorite companion from F1), and they would've given the NCR hell if they'd stayed indepedant, they also would've been a very useful fighting force for House or Yes Man, too bad they joined the Rangers .

Yeah, honestly with 0 leg protection vet rangers should have about 18dt The torso armor looks thick and serious, but no leg protection.

I don t know what I would do about their guns. Those rounds are not that strong. Maybe give them trail carbines .44 mag pistols, and AMRs. From what I can tell the 45/70 is not realistic compared to the other bullets in game. Its not real accurate at range, but is way too powerful.

I don't know what to do, I know if I nerf the Rangers, NCR fanatics will hound me for being biased against the NCR.
