He still has 4 goals and a couple assist in this tournament so far, the problem is the teams are doing everything to stop messi by sitting deep, congesting the final third and having a player mark him.This stuff happens when he plays for Barcelona but teams will get exposed by other players in the Barcelona team which in-turn gives messi space.

Really Argentina's attacking players haven't done much to get him space or chances, but another key things is that the Argentina midfield misses a real playmaker like Pirlo, Xavi or even a riquelme who can give Messi the ball quickly in dangerous areas, Mascherano is ok in possession but he doesn't have the vision or ability to thread incisive passes.

Having said that Germany will probably play higher up giving Messi and Argentina more space to attack.
