fighter's stronghold

Post » Thu Dec 16, 2010 3:01 pm

I picked Oblivion back up about a week ago. I purchased the Wizard's Tower DLC for my new mage character.
I have been thinking about getting the fighter's stronghold, I normally dont play as a melee character.
Should I get this DLC?

Well, do you feel like the Wizard's Tower was worth it? Do you only want a home that is appropriate for your type of combat? Do you just want a castle?

It's a pretty cool home, in my opinion. I like it better than the Wizard's Tower, but I mostly play melee characters. I'd say look up videos online or something and see if it looks appealing to you or not.

Can only offer personal opinion, and that is :
Great home, not just for fighters, but don't expect anything from the frankly terrible quest to get ownership.

Fighter's stronghold suits most types of characters I find. You could have a mage lord who lives in a castle with his own guards and such. I think it is the best stronghold dlc of the lot.

I remember picking it up for free on release date, or whatever it was (yes, legally, Bethesda offered it) :D

Regarding the castle, I can't give a complete opinion, because I did not explore it much, but I believe it is a good home for a warrior lord or anything. I personally won't get it on my current character for RP reasons, but I remember really liking it. You get servants, a smith, guards... The quest isn't really anything interesting though.

It was actually just free on the first week, I guess to reward the players that stick up to all the news and that :D

It's all about personal opinion.
If you want a castle and a minor quest go ahead.

I personally think that this DLC is worth picking up....The castle makes a great base for any sort of character that you may be using, not just your typical knight/warrior.

Not to give anything away, but the new content just adds to the overall experience.

Cheers

The fighters stronghold is WELL worth it, moreso than Wizards Tower is. I would have raged at the Wizards Tower if it wasn't for the spell alters.

I really love the fighters stronghold. The quest to gain the castle was complete BS, but there are several secret rooms in the castle, a little mini-quest/story thing going on too. Plus, lots of display cases, trophies, servents, et cetera.

If you are playing on the PC and you want a castle, I suggest you pass on the DLC, and just download a mod. You will find much better castles, with more interesting quests, and all for free.
