Just no, there was Mad Max, A Boy and His Dog and tonnes of other films before Fallout was around.

Did you know Fallout 3 wasn't the first media based off of a post-apocalyptic scenario?

I will move this to the FO general section where it probably goes. That said, the devs that worked on FO3 have admited to getting some inspiration from reading "The Road".

No. Fallout is not the progenitor of post apocalyptic settings in games/movies. If anything, Fallout is a rip of of Mad Max, but even that is pushing it.

If memory serves, FO3 took some stuff from The Road, not the other way around.

It was a book before it was a movie. And the Book was released before FO3.

...Yeah. As stated aboove, if anything, FO3's borrowing from The Road, not the other way around.

*gigglesnort*

The Road was a book :P
Then they made a movie based off of it.

And as others have pointed out, post apoctalytic fiction isn't new.
Add in some vaults, nuka cola, etc. and you can say it's a rip off :P

For [censored]s sake, why does everything have to be a [censored] rip-off? You give me ANY book or movie in the world, and I'll find three that are similar to it (here we go).

*puts on mini-moderator hat*

Guys, calling people a troll can get you a warning... I know of somebody who was banned because of it (it got them their last warning)

So... try to avoid that.

Lets go bully Borderlands for copying fallout.

TBH, Who gives a crap if things are copied from one another, It's mainly inspiration. The only reason you think it's a Rip-off is because your a fan of Fallout 3. What if you where a fan of The Road, Would you come on these forums, to it's members, and say that this game is a rip-off of a Book/Movie/Thingy.

Shove that in your orange juice and drink it

EDIT: I was told smoking is bad for your health.
