Final Patch ?

Post » Fri Jan 10, 2014 11:17 am

Hey guys and girls I am creating this topic as a way for people to basically show Bethesda the glitches they are experiencing that we want Skyrim to receive a patch to try and fix the massive amount of bugs and glitches. I love Skyrim and the elder scrolls series but lets be honest the ridiculous amount of bugs in Skyrim is to the point of being unacceptable. We paid full price for a game and that should entail a full unbroken entertainment experience which we are not getting with the numerous bugs, some small and annoying others down right game breaking. Many players interested in this type of game pour hours upon hours into them only to have their games break due to a glitch making them unplayable and after the many hours invested this is infuriating and heartbreaking making the player never want to even look at the game again.

We were also promised patches when Bethesda announced that were no longer producing dlc for Skyrim which again to be frank the amount of dlc for such a huge title was again a let down. As quoted in an article available on Kotaku " Even though we are moving on, we'll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed. We've invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it."

I would like all of you to show Bethesda that you want a patch released for the game you paid your hard earned money on, post the glitches you have experienced down in the comments and hopefully they will be fixed its time to hold Bethesda to higher standards they make fantastic games but ultimately fail to provide enough support for them and ensure that problems are down to an absolute minimum.

I'll admit the link is pretty funny but I've been playing Bethesda games for a long time so I'm certainly not new to their issues but that's why at this stage I think it needs to be addressed this attitude of "Oh well its Bethesda what do you expect" or "Oh well Bugthesda strikes again" is not helpful. If we don't address the problems we have with buggy glitchy games than the problem will only persist and we will never get a truly great game from Bethesda or at least a stable glitch free one. As far as the promises from Bethesda go I also feel that they have an obligation to up hold them we gave them money for a product that has in some ways not followed through on promises they made.

Maybe we'd make a point if no one would buy their next elder scrolls game, and we directly let them know that if they want us to buy the one after that that it needs to be flawless.

However, knowing our community, next game will still be bought in insane numbers, and knowing Bethesda's lack of balls and attitude not buying their next game could likely end up with TES series dying out which is something that no one would like.

Users will buy the next game to see if it is better. I used to program software before going into network engineering. Skyrim is more stable than many other games I played. Half-life was buggy and the graphics drivers would not work with it. I am down to three quests that I can't get working properly. I found going to google helped with the map not working. Google told me were to go to finish the quests and how to get around the bugs. Petitions don't work because they base fixes on sales. When the title is selling, they put out patches. Money in means money for patches.

Maybe you should have said something a year ago? You know, before they were done with Skyrim. Kind of pointless right now.

Unfortunately I feel this is the case but hopefully by voicing our problems we can get patches released for current issues and avoid these frustrating problems in future titles.

Well I honestly feel like voicing our opinion on the problems is helpful to hopefully producing a better standard not only now but for future games no matter when we say it. Also we were told we would receive patches and updates even after they were no longer producing new material for the game and as far as I know and I'm open to someone saying otherwise but I don't think we have received any patches after the Legendary update in April 2013 a few days before they announced that they would no longer produce any dlc for Skyrim. So I don't agree that its pointless to hold Bethesda to their word.

Search for all the similar posts over the last 12-18 months in this forum. We all doubt any more fixes for Skyrim.

I don't understand how are people still hoping that Skyrim will get patches, but I'm not gonna be a party breaker. After all I do hope we do get at least one, but seeing how it went last time I'm actually currently scared of patches released by Bethesda. :P

The problem is patches only work forward. They don't fix current bugs in saved games. I am at level 73. I want to get to level 100 and will create a new character. I hope 1.9 fixes bugs when I get a new character.
