Finally back to playing

Post » Wed May 05, 2010 1:50 am

It has been a long long time since I played this RPG, and I still consider it one of the best by far, and frankly I miss it.

So I am about to reinstall the game and both official addons, head over to the main site and get the dlc they released for it.

Naturally I wasted no time in getting Giants and Wilderness addons by pumaman, and that is all I can remember.

Childeren of the night was probably my fave and largest mod for MW, but last I checked they gave up on part 3 :(

I am going to need some skins, and I forgot wich ones I used to use, I will also need a companion, and some clothes :)
There was one I barely recall the name off, perhaps canadian ice or something ? But it has been years now since playing and I havent followed the forums in all that time.

Are there any mods I really should be looking at ? I will be browsing for them myself, but tips from active players would help immensly!

Even though I never completed this game due to crashes, and at the time a terribly unreliable PC, I may have put around 500 hours into it lol.

This time I want to complete it, but I want it to be epic!

So finding a character I am happy with, something cool to wear, and then some awesome adventures to go on, would help no end.

However this time I will try and avoid getting a mod that forces you to eat, drink and sleep, and combining it with a mod that takes you to part of the world with no wells or food :D that shipwreck ended badly.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.
And thanks in advance for any help!

As I am sure you are aware back when this game was being activly modded there were a dozen sites with 1000 mods, god alone knows what that figure is at now, so going in blind will take me a month i could be using to play.

There's also a thread here about mod lists for new players, but that's only if you're actually interest in anyone's opinion but mine >.

Canadian Ice has a very nice robe replacer http://canadianice.moddersrealm.com/robes.html. I think you may have to sign up at a forum to d/l, but it's worth it.
Also, Pluto's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/ is a very comprehensive list of places to start looking for good stuff.

Readin up on everything, especially the patches that help with the crashes (the reason i had to give up on it in the first place)
Now if only bloodmoon, would bloody install i could get started.

erm i must remember to get the official patches, and patch them with the unoficial patch ermm... yeah i will be reading for a while!

humm, i broke the game lol, narrowed it down to the exe patch, but why its broke i do not know, works fine with an original exe.
