- New Vault-Tec network protocols are finally in place. Now you can save your Vault to the "cloud," (no moisture condenser necessary!).

- Some dwellers are reporting strange, some would even say mysterious, sightings in Vaults.

Overseers, to activate the "Cloud" system, you guys must mark the option on Vault List window:

Ok love most of the update except for the fact there is now a cap to wasteland explorers. So there is population limit outside as well, why and how does make any logical sense or to be found appealing to the player base in any sort of fashion? This is proof positive another game where developers don't play the game or understand what they are doing. I usually don't post on forums like this but this new feature is so horrible it needs to be express and if not removed will destroy the game for many of players and like I said before prove Bethesda doesn't care about its player/customer base. If you want most of our Dweller to remain in the Vault give us new rooms that actually do something for those who have over 100+.

I'd rather have no update than something this horrible.

If it fixes some of the more serious bugs like the crashing and save game corruption I would much rather have this then nothing.

And that is why updates like this happen "Oh as long as it fixes my issues I don't care what else they do to the game" Doesn't fix anything if anything it causes new bugs and issues to arise because they did not plan ahead. 1.2 should have been a bug fix update not a content update. Up until this update I've had my share of bugs and glitches but the game was still fun for me I understood the game was new and there that is the way of games. Yet this new content is making me want to walk away.

yup

i'm pretty much maxed out except for items.... which exploring gets..... this pretty much kills the game for me, i have about 30 regular maxed explorers that go for 100 hours each before i recall them.... so that's an entire week per. now i can only do that with limited dwellers?

if this is how bethesda is going to improve player experience, i may have to switch to downloading the demo of fallout 4. perfect example of why you shouldnt pre-order

at least i wont be draining any more time with this game. back to fallout 2 for my fix

I do care what they do to the game, but I'm also not going to judge the patch until I see the release notes. All we know is what Google Play has told us. This new version was over 140MB, the old one was in the 120MB range if I remember correctly, so that's at least 20MB of changes to the game right there, that's a fairly large change for a mobile program and potentially a significant number of bug fixes. All they added was a new game mode, cloud saves, Russian language support, and something in the dark which isn't in the in game manual. I haven't verified the explorer limit as I have never sent that many people out at the same time.

My bottom line is to give them a chance and see what they have really done. If they were able to fix a good number of the bugs and add in content that's awesome, if not then it's disappointing but hopefully they were able to fix the major bugs that were breaking the game.

How is it awesome if the new content causes players like me and dizgruntled to stop playing that is not positive player experience, which now breaks the game for those who already though yes a few bug fixes the game could be better but wasn't broken in the first place.

Are you kidding me Bethesda? It's great we are finally getting an update, but a wasteland limit at 10? This game doesn't have an endgame other then sending out dwellers to scour for legendary items and you have just killed that completely.

You claim you listen in your patch notes, then listen to this:
Remove the wasteland limit

Add a "Sell all commons" button when collecting from dwellers

Needs more objectives, maybe even some larger missions you can go for: rewards: lunchboxes, special titels for the overseer, badges and achievements unlocked.

Stop the dwellers from running around when fighting, it can be hard to deliver stimpacks sometimes because they are on top of each other.

In the dweller list, let me sort both ways. It's great we can eg. sort by levels 50 and down, but I also want to sort by levels 1 and up.

A search feature in the dwellers list.

When a dweller dies and is revived, it should go back to the room it came from, not wander around.

A kill button for those in the waiting list

A kill button on dwellers, so you can have 200 dwellers and easy get dwellers from lunchboxes, without having to send out some random dweller to the wasteland (which is even harder now), so it can die and free up space for your new lunchbox dweller.

In general, think of the endgame and when people reaches 200.

This is hilarious in the saddest way possible. Some people are just never happy. For me it was enough to know that this is a game that Bethesda continues to support. They gave us a cloud feature, that's a win. We don't have to worry about are vaults going bye bye forever anymore. We got that and a little added content, and still people are not happy. Fine, maybe we didn't get everything our hearts desire, but we did get something. Let me be the one to show a little appreciation.

THANK YOU BETHESDA!!! Please keep the vaults running, and I'll be looking forward to patch 1.3.

P.S. Please forgive the ungrateful children that clearly do not understand that age old proverb of not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Looks like I didn't get that edit up fast enough. Let me give you a reply.

Edit. I see, you were trying to bypass the filter. You know you could have just googled that word for synonyms. That might help you expand your vocabulary. Maybe next time you can write a retort that consists of more than 9 words. Might strengthen your argument a bit.

Now how do you know that having too many wasteland explorers on the field at one time wasn't one of the things that was causing the game to crash. This game takes up a ridiculous amount of memory. I have my phone set up to kill tasks once every 60 seconds just so it can keep up with Fallout Shelter. If Bethesda took the time to make that kind of a radical change, I'm willing to bet my britches there's a reason for it.

Survival mode sounds interesting.

Halloween content sounds interesting.

Cloud is a nice safety net.

Cap on explorers is very sad. I already limited my exploring and still use more then 10. (Looks like it's a fix for performance issues on Androit devices when a lot dwellers are send out.)

Missing: Fixing a lot of other issues.

------------

In the end it is a nice update but at the price of end game content.

There's a difference between criticism and outright rudeness. What a lot of gamers seem to do these days, and in fact it's in every walk of life, is to be completely self-centred and rude with no respect for the work people have put into what they're criticising.

If I walk into a restaurant and order a meal and it comes out cold I don't give the waitress a barrage of abuse and walk out without paying, although this is what I see most people do, and then I see the fallout as that waitress has to remove herself to deal with the emotional trauma she has been unnecessarily put through. What I do is politely get her attention, explain the problem calmly and clearly stating that I know it's not her fault, and request a new meal. It's a thing called common courtesy: more people really should try it.

Do I like the ten explorer limit? No. Do I think it needs to be changed? Yes. Do I need to be an [censored] about it and disrespect the work the developers have put in? Absolutely not. Can I express my distaste of this decision in critical way whilst having respect? Definitely yes.

The wasteland limit has taken my enjoyment and interest from the game. As others have previously mentioned, once you get to a certain point (rooms maxed, Dwellers stats maxed, etc) there is only the enjoyment of sending out Dwellers to the wasteland in search of legendary items.

I do appreciate the support and fixes, however, the addition of a limit is not an improvement but a step back in game play experience.

PS I did not receive the new Dweller from Fallout 4 that I have seen many others speak of, nor do I see the the "strange sightings" or the "survival mode". I have completely closed the game and reopened it with no luck.

What's New in Version 1.2

Vault-Tec engineers have implemented some exciting new features!

  • New Vault-Tec network protocols are finally in place. Now you can save your Vault to the “cloud,” (no moisture condenser necessary!) or continue any Vault experiment on all of your devices.

  • Some Dwellers are reporting strange, some would even say mysterious, sightings in Vaults around the Wasteland. Vault-Tec is offering a bottle cap reward for any positive identification!

  • Faced all the challenges the “normal” Vault simulation can provide? Introducing Survival Mode! More danger, More glory. Make Vault-Tec proud!

  • New Vault-Tec directive – Dwellers have been given authorization to scavenge equipment from dead Raiders. Gear up!

  • Are you an experienced Overseer who has already undergone Vault operational training? Now you can skip the tutorial!

  • In an effort to assist Overseers in running their Vaults more efficiently, Vault-Tec has added a statistics page to the Vault Dweller’s Survival Guide (VDSG).

  • Support added for Russian-speaking Overseers.

  • Continued general maintenance to the Vault simulation. Because when you speak, Vault-Tec listens!

New is the option to loot raiders which is really nice.

It does talk about survival mode in the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide. Now I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that's something you would choose at the beginning of the game when you first name your vault. The option to turn that on mid-game for the more experienced players would have been a nice touch though. Bethesda did say in the update that they were going to continue tweaking. Maybe that's something we can hope for later.

If those strange and mysterious sightings turn out to be the Zeta Reticuli, I'm going to go absolutely freaking nuts. I loved Mothership Zeta. Maybe vault dwellers can get abducted now. Lol.

As a fellow game programmer I know the difference between criticism and rudeness. I been nothing but critical not rude, I understand what other programmers and developers go through but the ten explorer limit is like ordering a bone-in rib eye and receiving a McDonald's cheeseburger. The 10 limit rule is paramount to taking away content and only could have been thought by a developer who never even played the game or a programmer who doesn't understand gaming which in turn to your anology I would demand to see the manager and have the very chef(developer) fired for such incompetence.

So hurt the many so the few can be happy. I know many of Android users who did not have this issue have you ever thought it the model of the device you are using. But now we all have to suffer for you to be happy good for you. There is no faith when to make few people happy you destroy a working(although bugged) game.

Let me put this out there who think your bug fixes saved the game while those of us "whine" about the 10 explorer update.

Before this update I would happily log in every hour or so just to see who to send to out to try and get legendary equipment.

Now I haven't logged in because I have 20 dwellers who normally would on wandering rotation waiting until another 20 can come back in.

According to this update I might as waste the time building more boring rooms just so they sit there and do there jobs and now the game becomes boring and useless.

Answer me before you post about this update fixing your bugs(which I am happy if they did) but ask your selves how many people now do not want to play this game anylonger because with this one little part of a bigger update destroyed any sense of end game play in this game whats so ever.

If the above post seems rude in any way I apologize, I am just trying to figure out why Bethesda wants us to stop playing this game because in my honest opinion this one part that I keep mentioning is the message I am receiving and unless this is fixed I know I wont be the only receiving this message.
