Finally got it, but i have a question none the less.

That took a while but i was finally able to pick my "The Elderscrolls Anthology" box yesterday. In case some one does not know this Box offer...( Which i really doubt, but still. )

The reason i bought it was for several reasons. A while ago i already thought about installing Oblivion and / or Morrowind, but while looking through my game collection i found out a few things. I found Shivering Isles but no longer my Oblivion DVD, and i never owned Knights of the Nine. So that is already two reasons. I then looked at Morrowind, and i found Morrowind and both Tribunal and Bloodmoon...BUT it turned out that the Tribunal and Bloodmoon DVD's where damaged. :wallbash:
So i looked on the sites of computer stores in my home town that sell PC games, and on one of those sites i found the Anthology box for only 60 euro's. If i hat to buy them all separately i probably would have payed quit a bit more. ( Should it have to be ordered and shipped in. ) There is only one thing i do not understand, as can be seen the box also contains Skyrim Legendary edition. Once i have finished my current game with my current character then i will re-install the game with the Legendary edition. But i see no Steam code for Hearthfire, so how can i install it then. ( Not that i will be sad if i can not, but i still would like to find out. )

IIRC THe Legendary Edition is registered by Steam when using the Skyrim code as a purchase that includes the DLC so they will download automatically once you register the Key code on steam.

I've done this Sir. Going from Standard to Legendary Edition to save money on DLCs. With a Level 35 character.

I would:

- Back up your save files and put them somewhere safe.

- Ensure that when the 'overstall' takes place that Steam is reading from the disk and not trying to download the whole blinking game again.

Your DLC's will chain install automatically.

There are aspects of Steam that aren't particularly intuitive. e.g. What DLC do I have installed? and Where do I enter my redeem code? I had to Google that.

If you run the default Skyrim Desktop shortcut following 'overstall' and look under 'Settings' (check this reference, I don't have it open in front of me and use SKSE at game launch) then your DLC will be a series of selectable checkboxes under the main Skyrim.esm file.

Check the DLC you want to run at any time, as they are not main quest dependent, and you're good to go.

Let's see if i understood it correctly.

* I can either install the Legendary edition over my current Skyrim install, and steam will see that and install Hearthfire even though the Anthology box does not have a steam code.

* I can un-install Skyrim with DG and DB, but leave Steam installed. And then when i use the re-install / install function from the Legendary Edition DVD it will re-install Skyrim with DG / Hearthfire / DB even though there is no steam code for Hearthfire with the legendary Edition?

Mind you that till i got the Anthology Box, i only hat Skyrim with DG and DB, i never hat Hearthfire before.

Well today i tried installing the Legendary Edition, here is what i did...

1) In steam i first used "Delete Local content".

2) After that i deleted the entire Skyrim folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\

3) I cleaned the registry.

4) Then i started Steam.

5) After that i installed Skyrim Legendary Edition, but to my surprise there is nothing in the Skyrim folder that shows Hearthfire was also installed?

See opening post for more information please.

skyrim folder? i do not own the legendary edition but usually you see the dlcs in steam; right click skyrim in your library, chose properties and check the last tab.

i guess you used your new key that came with the anthology....? if you did and you do not have hearthfire, you should contact steam support.

No as i mentioned in the opening post the Anthology Box did not have a new key / authentication code for Hearthfire. I already own Skyrim and the DLC's Dawnguard and Dragonborn for quit a long time now. It is just that on a fresh install the Legendary Edition did not install Heartgfire as it should have. ( It only installed what i already own? )

Some one on the Steam forums advised me to place a support ticket on this, and i have done so. I just hope they can help to solve the problem, because right now i have no idea what i did wrong?

Did you look in the Data Files folder? You should see a Hearthdfire ESM and BSA in there. If you do, then the DLC is installed. Just make sure it's checked in the Launcher. There is no Hearthfire EXE, just the Skyrim EXE

easy way to check would be to look in your Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/Data folder and see if you have hearthfires.esm and hearthfires.bsa files, if so .. you have hearthfire installed

LoL that was the very first thing i checked after installing the Legendary Edition. i Usually do not like to use these words on the internet, but trust me there is no Hearthfire.esm and no Hearthfire.bsa.

I dont think there are codes for the DLC. Correct me if im wrong.

Can you right click Skyrim in the steam library and select properties. Is there a DLC tab? What's listed there?
