About 140 hours and I had my first attack in a walled city the night before last. Solitude. I didn't even know that could happen so it really caught me by surprise.

My first "indoor" dragon happened in Riften. I walk in, try to give the beggar a gold coin and suddenly he starts running and screaming "save me" and there he was, a big ol' dragon, swooping down over the market place LOL Me and some guards killed him behind the Temple of Mara, in the cemetery.

Why is it after you kill Alduin, Dragons still attack?

Didnt even know that it could happen. have 80 hours in and havent had a single attack inside a walled city. Had Many when i visit the smaller settlements but none in the big cities.

Same, just double/triple that time.

I'd love to experience one. Closest has been a couple of dragon fights in the College of Winterhold. Also have fought dragons in Morthal and on the streets of Faulkreath.

I never had a walled city dragon attack. One flew over Whiterun once, but it was just having a looksee. Though, on my 'main' character almost all none walled city (read village) is deserted due dragon attacks, mostly coupled attacks (one triple, poor Falkreathers).

My closest one was from Solitude farm outside the wall. Saw a guard raised his bow, and I went to explore too because I thought the guard was bugged. And when I turned to face the river, the dragon swooped down from behind me and flew around before attacking. Turns out the guard saw the dragon that's why he got his bow armed.

First time was outside solitude, I saw it and began crapping my pants so I ran inside solitude thinking I would be safe, oh how I was wrong.... Only survived, thanks to the guards.

What platform are you playing on? I have a co-worker on 360 that's had it happen numerous times. I'm level 52, 116 hours, playing on PS3 and it's never happened to me.

It's all random, my lvl 40 assassin can't fart or there's a dragon coming, my berserker orc is lvl 20 and has yet to see a random dragon (apart from the first due quest).

I've only had 2. One in Riften which was disappointing since it was with my sneaky archer assassin. I wore him down and like a moron ran in for the cool animated kill and by the time I got there, a guard had stolen the glory. I assassinated him that night.

The second one was awesome. It was at Whiterun and it kept hopping from rooftop to rooftop. I eventually killed it while it was perched on the Drunken Huntsman. Really challenging and exciting fight.

I love this game.

My first was during my first playthrough. Had just escaped the first dungeon with the tutorial NPC, we split up and i went to riverwood where the guards were already busy trying to shoot down the dragon off the roofs. I remember thinking 'wow Beth isn't wasting any time here, the game JUST started already two towns are being taken down by the first dragon'
In retrospect that may not have been the same dragon and the second attack was definitely random, but still - gripping moments in skyrim!

Is the occurrence super rare? Because I got a level 22 character and 55 hours into the game. No attacks in the cities itself. Not even the small village. Always in the wild, or near a city but not in the city wall or area itself.

My first and only dragon attack in a walled city was in Solitude. It happened during a time where dozens of guards were in that open area near the barracks.

The dragon had no chance against so many people but my game got slow and crashed 3 or 4 times before I could kill it without a crash. That was a bad time to attack Solitude.

200 hours and the only walled city that's been attacked was Whiterun. Very fun watching him perch on the buildings. It was an elder dragon I believe, my first one. He came down pretty quickly with all those arrows flying.

I've had a ton over at Dawnstar, but that's not walled. They just keep cropping up there though.

193 hr's with one character and the only walled area I get dragons is the college. It looks like a junk yard full of bones. I bought Breeze home just so I didn't have to go back to the college to store the thing's I wanted to keep for later and make to potions.

Not that it really matters, but the college courtyard doesn't count as a "walled city" since it is not a separate cell.

I've had three. One in Solitude, Riften, and Windhelm. My first was in Windhelm, it broke a quest....

Had one in Windheld and the guards stood around doing nothing, which was odd. The damn thing wouldn't land and would just swoop through and hit me with frost once in a while. I ignored him and he went away.

It was in Winterhold, those guards that walk in the town assisted me. It was epic cause sometimes it would land between houses and sometimes fly away from the cliff and come back.
