When he changed to medic, did you see how many points he gets for just healing and reviving people? Still a big balance issue.

Assuming you mean the Pax 10 Walkthrough Cam, very nice.

Not as much as you may think. I'm lead to believe that medics get little to no experience for shooting or killing, to really force medics to heal and revive others instead of making a heavy self healing super-tank build.

judging by the relative ease that the guy was playing at, I'm going to assume that all the AI were on easy mode

Things I noticed: No Heavies in this video. (might have missed 'em)

Using abilities takes away from a circular gauge in the bottom left corner.

Buffing yourself doesn't seem to take any more of the gauge than buffing others. Not sure about the difference in XP gain.

Medics have a longer ability gauge than the other classes, apparently.

Of course, this footage, while new to us, is from the old container city vids, so there's probably been some changes since then. More to come as I watch it a few more times!

EDIT: In the very beginning you can see that Jolly's sprinting speed was buffed. This means, obviously, that there is a sprinting speed buff. Probably a Medic thing.

Soldiers can hand out special types of ammo, like armor piercing.

Oh, ok then. That's good! That means all this is accurate as of right now. I'm still trying to deduce a few things...

it doesnt seem to me that the soldier got alot of XP for planting the bomb, i mean you kind of risk you neck for that and only get 25? the medic got 100 for the revive. Dont get me wrong i like that they encourage people to revive you with high xp, but doesnt seem quite fair

EDIT: just watched it again and after the gate blows up he gets around 300 xp, so yeah, i take that back

Good eye on the sprint boost, to me, it looked like the soldier is able to hand out a lot of ammo for EXP as well, more than the medic managed to get from healing. at the start, he got 140 exp total for 2 kills, which is a bit more than 1 revive. I imagine those values will continue to get tweaked all the way up until release.

I also noticed an Operative icon off to the left while they were defending the bomb. I have no idea what that's for though.

Also, MatthiasK, he only got 25 points for planting the bomb, but he got well over 200 XP when it exploded.

And I'm still not sure exactly how the radar works. Enemies seem to show up as red dots when they shoot, and also when they are spotted directly...maybe. :spotted owl:

EDIT: Engineers can see the health of their turret, so they know when it is under attack.

he gets
635xp while playing as soldier in this video
553xp as engineer
1016 as a medic

seems like medic is getting alot of the xp compared to the other classes

judging by the lack of AI skill, though, I think that this footage is in easy mode, which would kind of mess with balance, considering the EXP values are going to be geared towards normal difficulty and higher, including PvP

Easier to buff health and revive teammates. No shortage on either.

there's always a lot to do as a medic, and keeping the other's alive is one of the best things to do in my eyes, wich would explain the augmented xp, and thus they also make sure people don't use it as a solo class

Yeah, but it's going to svck having Medics running around all over the place healing, buffing, and reviving people so they can get XP. Wait...

Exactly the kind of vid I wanted to see.

The experience he gains is subjective. I'd gain way more experience points as medic or engineer than as soldier or operative. Just because I'm more used to play support roles than frag roles.

Nice.

I think I'll go medic/soldier. Depends on how the game works.
