Guys, I'm seeing a pretty strange contradiction here; although all comments seem to lean heavily in favour of an understated execution function or even doing away with it, poll results show that most voters preferred to either interrogate a downed foe (which will cause a painful, prolonged death) or brutally crush the life out of him. Boy, is this world weird!
But anyway, I myself dislike gibbing, but am in favour of an swift, businesslike but stylish execution system in order to increase immersion in the game, but preventing the possibility of becoming a sitting duck (for long) or stepping over the thin boundaries of other's sensibilities. Worse stuff happened in the trailer (what happened to the two operatives near its end was flat-out monstrous), but here's to hoping that we can add at least a bit of flair to Brink's gameplay without severely displacing any gameplay mechanics or food in anyone's stomachs.
By the way, I also think it would be good for Operatives, at least, to have a 'assassination' function that could severely damage an enemy if not kill him outright. However, when taking the issue of adverse effects to the Medic role that commentators wisely brought up, I'm not absolutely confident in its success. Well, what do you think?
