I finished honest hearst in 15 minutes... WTH? =\

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 12:32 am

Hi.

Well, probably 15 minutes ago I was starting honests hearts for the fisrt time, after the slideshow, some tribals started attack me and the caravan, everyone died exept me.
So I started to follow the quest and every single tribal attacked me, and them some quests started failing, so I got on the marker, got a map and de freaking dlc was over?!!!
What just happend? How did it end so quickly? Did I do something wrong?

Do not kill Follows Chalk when the tribals across the bridge attack you.

You shot the wrong tribal. Reload, and don t shoot at the two across the bridge. There is a scripted event that takes place.

Not a wise way for them to start a dlc IMO.

Yeah, Follows Chalk will climb up on a cliff/rock outcropping just over the bridge. He'll be the only tribal that won't fire at you! If you kill him, you're done.

You've played through the entire game relying on quick saves? No offense, but that is incredibly stupid. Do you not have an autosave?

How do you play the game relying only on quick saves?

Most likely going to have to start a new game.

I know its kinda stupid but its just so easy to press f5 so its hard to control myself.

I think I'll just leave it for another playthrou, now I'll try Old World Blues for the first time and see if I dont screw it and finish it in 15 minutes...

I don't mean to be rude either, but I agree with Power and Ruined, how the heck did you rely on quicksaves? I have to do manual saves in high activity areas because if I quicksave my game locks up forever or for literally 15-20 mins (Ive had patience before, so I just waited to see)

Relying on autosaves is not a good idea for this exact reason. If you make a mistake and don't realize it before it's too late, then it affect your game until you have to start a new character.

You should use regular saves with the autosaves. I rely on 7 hard saves and I just overwrite them as I go. Now this may be a bit extreme (I'm a pretty cautious FO player) but most people would suggest that you use 3-5 saves. Before you do something that seems important, I would save in the future. For example, you could save before talking to the Legate at the end of the game, or you can save when you begin a DLC.

Hope this helps! :)

How does this still happen? You should have saves from before you even went there. You need to have at least 5 save slots per character.

It sounds like you may be exaggerating just a bit. I would say at least an hour is what's needed to beat the game, even while skipping through conversation.

But I haven't played HH killing Chalk so I don't know how it would change the game.

Hmm i keep 15 saves for each of my toons.... where does that put me? :stare:

Also to OP.
Fact: Playing Fallout with only auto saves and not having gotten stuck in some infinite gap of death or stuck without the ability to fix some thing you messed up on until this point? You are one extremely fortunate person.
Fact: Its easy to accidentally kill Followers Chalk because the scripted event is fail.
Fact: The fact that you play fallout with only your auto-save is fail.

Lesson of story: Be sure to play fallout with more saves and don't shoot followers-chalk when you start HH.

This, pretty sure if you uninstall the DLC and then save in game it'll act like you've never played HH. Re-install and load the save then restart. Afterwards make sure to keep MANUAL saves!

Good luck.

Before you start shooting Tex make sure the red marker on the compass is present and NO green markers are near the target.
