Finished playthroughs

Well, today Saleth finished his quest. After becoming a Daedric Prince, he decided to leave the throne empty for a while, and enter Tamriel. Haskill told him that when he uses his powers in the SI he would become Sheogorath. So he didn't use them and left. He heard of the heart of the dead. And thought it was perfect for a daedric prince. It turned out to be nothing. The time was running out. Every night he dreamt of the SI calling him. So he decided to get to the good side of the other princes and did their quests. And now he is back in the SI. Ready to become Sheogorath. And embrace his destiny. His time of adventures is over.

Whenever these kind of things happen, I move the last save to another folder, but I know I will never use them again. Still I do it. xD A bad habit perhaps. But it feels like their whole story is written in those files. Do you guys delete them or also keep them save?

I always keep the first and last saves from a character that I invested some time into. Before I archive the save, I put the character somewhere in the game for "retirement" and then archive the two saves and then delete all the other ones (I make lots and lots of slots when I play). I will pull them out of retirement or start over with them as the case may be. Usually for a mod that requires a higher level character or when I want something that is already developed to explore with.

Note, in this game, I never do the dungeon tutorial, instead loading up that one save from before I exit the sewers, I make my changes, then create a new slot. So, that's my first save of the character.

Well most of my characters end up dead, since I play dead is dead, so I just delete the saves.

I've only had one character I've ever really retired, an Altmer Battlemage I used to smash the MQ, the only time I've actually completed it. Since I was only playing him for that one purpose, I deleted his files.

I delete my saves when I've finished telling a character's story. I've learned over the years that, once a character's story has been told, I never play that character again. So there's no point in keeping her saves.
